See our captain is on holiday now going off his social media, Hodgson's 'working progress' with the halves must be taking place somewhere on the Spanish coast.

A reminder that the "work in progress" was the Mail's words, not Hodgson's.

As poor as the half backs have been I wouldn't expect them to cancel family holidays to stay at home and do extra training.

Presumably most clubs players have holidays booked. I saw Matt Pryor at Leeds Bradford airport on Saturday.
As we all know the club like to drip feed signings. It wouldn’t surprise me if all deals are done but the club are just waiting to announce..

For me it wouldn’t be classed as extra training. It should be the norm? It is still the season?

We often hear coaches bemoan the fact that, due to the number of games, they don’t have time to work on things with the players in training.

This would have been the ideal time to do that?

Perhaps this is the time that sorts out those players that are prepared to go that bit extra to be successful?

It was a planned two week break because of the England game so presumably players from all clubs are taking the opportunity for time away - even from clubs lower than us in the table. Personally I don't begrudge them, it's a long season from pre-Christmas training up to mid Septermber or November for those involved in the World Cup.

We don't, of course, know how long players have gone away for or whether they has a personal training programme to follow.

Don't see Gale or any player having a break an issue at all.

I think Gale has been on a break for quite some time.

Hodgson Shenton doing a top job with the young kids. I think next year we will see some more start to push through. Am sure they are in a better position than most to see when the young guns are ready to step up. Looks like he's putting his long term plan into place.

Indeed seems like Shenton & Riding are doing a great job and also interesting to hear in the piece on Kye Armstrong that Ellis goes down and Kirk Yeaman is mentioned as going there a lot.
