If Stanley joins you good luck to him. It is his career and he like any other individual has to make decisions that suit him and bring the best returns. Our game is full of people who support one club being employed by another in different capacities. I understand one of your young players was in the North Stand on Saturday wearing his Rovers shirt cheering on his team. I’m sure that when he next pulls on his his FC shirt he will give it his all even if Rovers are the opposition. That’s what professional sportsmen do.

Agreed, think those days are over that you would only play for the club you supported, it's all about the best place floor your career as we have seen with the likes of Lewis and Brown.

Remember this Keith?

Stanley would rather walk on hot coals. He couldn’t wait to leave when he arrived with you by default in you hour of impending oblivion.

It shouldn't be the fans choice, the head choice should be bringing in the staff hw thinks are best for the job.

Could of course be a marker being put down by the new coach to show what control he has.

Then of course , it could be down to just who is available at this time as an assistant.
Stan doesn't strike me as Head Coach material, so may be a good fit for you whilst Shenton gains more experience for a bigger role.

All interesting stuff, there's always a bit of drama at Derby time.but few would have predicted the turn of events we have seen.

If it is Smith and he brings Stanley then let's at least give them a chance.

Also bear in mind Stanley is only 36, he's a young coach

No issue if the money is right. I was only going on what he said after moving to Hudds from FC after the Gateshead debacle. If he has now decided on a different course then good luck to him. If our personal circumstances change we make different decisions.
