I said at the game, I am so glad he plays for us, every team in SL would want Connor in their team, you sometimes don't know what you've got till you lose it. We should celebrate Jake and enjoy every moment. What a player, we will go from strength to strength this season.
My pre-season hope of a winning home record and to make the play offs in a rebuilding season is coming to fruition, happy days. And I have to say 3pm weekend kick offs are fantastic.
i can think of several on here who poo pooed anything but Friday night games Sunday still has to be the best day for me but the club have trialed Saturday afternoons now with success so i guess we will see a mixture of Saturday and Sunday matches. Much better of course for away supporters when travelling to Hull

If Connor had pace he'd be lighting up the NRL right now. We get to enjoy watching him play because he isn't the complete player, not in spite of.
On paper he'd make a great 6. But we've seen him play at 6 and it wasn't great. I'd rather have him as a centre than a 6 because he is devastating from there. But he wants to be a fullback and at 1 he is our greatest attacking threat since ... in a long time.
So we have who we have and now need to build a team that complents who Jake is and not who we wish he was. He is a once in a generation talent and with one or two key signings we could have a real shot at the title in the next few years.

are you saying a 6 can’t get into 3 on 3 ? the 6 can have his FB on the inside as a decoy whilst using his centre and winger on the outside or the FB isn’t a decoy at all
double threat but you need a FB that is fast enough to be the decoy

What I'm saying is when we get that 60/40 split of the field it's the fullback who gets into that situation. If you were to play him at 6 and have the fullback floating in and around that area you would have a 'middle' playing the role of 1st or 2nd receiver which would decrease the time that Connor would have.

Connor wanted to be a six Its Hodgson who wants him at full back Like you i always liked him at centre. He also was always a threat collecting or knocking back high kicks to his wing but we have moved away from only having this tactic since Sneyd went. Think Hodgson may have to look at moving Connor next season into the halves to partner Trueman and if we sign a Field/French type full back who is able to back up line breaks we wont be far away from being a very good hard to beat team.
