The problem with union is the top clubs have more money to throw at players than the NRL.

‘‘Tis true ccs, but as we are seeing now in the NRL eventually the cash cow becomes very selective of who it retains, and good young and older players are becoming available, perhaps we won’t get the very best, but as Mini and Sika proved they don’t have to be.

Agree, Swift is average and as I mentioned in a previous post we have enough cover on the wing. Worrying if true if that's the standard we are signing. If, hopefully Kelly stays the signings should only be quality forwards not squad players as we have enough of them already.

We’d more than happily keep Swift, and a year ago it was a close run race between him and Grace. But Grace has really kicked on in the last year and Swift has rejected our reduced contract offer since he’s now backup.

He’s good enough for first team rugby in SL, just not ahead of Makinson or Grace

I may have spoken to soon! If you go on The St Helens Red Vee forum their fans rate him and would be sorry if he leaves.

It doesn't changed my view that it's an unnecessary signing unless someone leaves.

If he does sign like any new player (apart from Ben Cockayne, of course) he will get my backing.

In Radford we trust

Ive doubted many of our signings when announced (Mini, Westerman, Fonua, Michaels) only to be proven hopelessly wrong.
I’ve had enough of humble pie, so I’m just keeping quiet from now on.
