Spot on the knives are out for the club by a few on here constantly moaning and bitching its pathetic tbh, Aydin come in because Laidlaw and Gardiner and not up to it yet plus wouldn't surprise me if Ligi goes 2nd Row, Cam failed head test so we are short in the pack, plus Armstrong a few weeks away, if Aydin came from anywhere but KR it wouldn't be an issue.

Why don’t some people realise that these young lads of ours need protecting. Sending them out week on week is madness when we can get some rescources in from elsewhere to help. Some names may not be top of the tree but so what, they are helping themselves as well as the club.

Whilst we seemingly have investment that has come or coming in and we've now got a D.O.R in Myler we don't have a magic wand.
The recruitment/retention has been poor since 2018 and got worse each year culminating in the club paying more players off in the last couple of years than we have done in the whole of the SL era. This has left us in what can only be described as a total mess. We have players too many players that are either no longer up to the rigours of Pro RL, too stuck in their ways to work hard, not actually good enough and no leadership qualities.
We can't hide the fact the 2024 squad is so poor with very few quality players and although we have some very good young players who are doing a great job in the interim they just aren't quite physically ready for week in week out SL.

Briscoe whilst he may not be a signing to whet the appetite, in the short term its a fairly decent move and whilst not massively improving us it at least gives us a better option out of back field and is a better option than Mc.
Hoy and Brown have also left an already paper thin squad in terms of quality, Hoy was on his way out while Smith was still HC so not a lot Myler could have done to use Hoy as a bargaining chip etc.
With Scott also missing again due HIA and Carlos as usual we are very very light in centres and Chamberlain whilst again not a signing to have us jumping for joy he is a decent player who will be able to do a good job short term for us.
The same goes for Aydin, we simply need bodies as we can't keep putting the young lads out with such weak squads to support them, it would be different if we had the likes of Ellis, Manu, Mini etc on the field but we don't and right now it's akin to lambs to the slaughter.

Whilst we have investment there is no point just blindly throwing money at players short term just for the sake of it as that is one of the reason we are in this mess as we've done that far too often and are paying for it.
We need calm and measured approach to take stock as to what's best to get us through this in the short term and also be planning 2025.
Rome wasn't built in a day and whilst I've been critical of the Smith era, I will back the club as they are at least showing signs and intent to finally makes the wholesale changes from top to bottom that have been needed. Just because there is money now available doesn't make quality signings magically appear.

Right now its about steadying the ship more than anything else which so far the club are in the process of trying to do.

Exactly Chris, just getting some bodies in to try and improve performances, pick up the odd win amd make sure we don't over play the young kids.

If we are making these type of signings for next season, as starting 17 players then we can start to worry.

This in a nutshell to be fair. Yusuf Ayden has been selected in a few Rovers 21 man squads this season, has, to my recollection played 2/3 times, including i believe in the opening derby and been on DR with Featherstone, so his fitness won't be an issue. Unless injuries strike he is unlikely to be first choice so this loan probably suits both teams.

If you buy a pass, then you are entitled to moan, especially when the club is damaging its own standing, and is becoming the laughing stock of SL. If you aren't supporting the club, by not buying a pass or turning up when life permits, then you should stop moaning.

I see in Hull Live Mitch has had an injury setback, so that means a whole year out of action now. Another bad signing, he was only so-so, over 30 and we knew he needed a knee op.

If only we'd have released these cheap fill in players and signed even just 1 decent player

Big cap space and a few quota spots kicking about, any manager who comes knows they will have a fresh slate to mould the squad to how they want it, plus some exciting youth players coming through, it’s a good base for someone to start a new legacy with,

I’m not panicking after a fortnight, however if we’re still looking for a coach this time next month then I’d be worried,

Hopefully the ship has stopped drifting and has started to sail in the right direction..

Top and bottom of it is, we missed out on our number one target, although I’d like to think it’s not totally dead in the water, and perhaps the old regime may have rushed into a bad appointment. I’m actually quietly content with going with Grix this year and playing the long game, waiting to see who is available by the end of the season. Yes, it might mean Myler plays the majority role in signing players, but is that a bad thing? Recruitment can’t be much worse! Think we need, as Take that’s album states is to show a little ‘Patience’.

These recent loan signings are really rock bottom and what they will bring to the team short term god knows yet as usual no matter how average they are fans will make a case that they are good signings for the club.Wake up.
I cant think of another S/L club that would make such average loan signings and for what purpose?
We have an ex NRL wing currently playing in the second row and we sign Tom Briscoe.I could accept it if it was a short term loan yet some fans because its Hull Fc try and make a case its a good signing some even believe it could be a cunning plan of the club to use his PhD in sports physiology and performance in the future.
Lets face it if our neighbours accross the river had signed Chamberlain on loan and a 34 year old Briscoe on an 18 month deal, given his age people on here would be laughing their heads off yet they accept Briscoe with open arms as the club know what they are doing so it must be the right signing
If Only

You have to read Grixs thoughts on Briscoe to understand the signing. We have young lads who need to come out of the firing line. We have gaps that need plugging, we need some quality and experience to help the youth. He provides also an uplift in club morale. (There will always be people who sap energy). There are no top quality backs around in their 20s available. Hence Briscoe
