v HKR 25th August : Thu Aug 11, 2022 10:07 am
Just noticed why the KO time change.
Trinity I
Super League can confirm the broadcast selections for Round 25.
As we build to the climax of the 2022 Betfred Super League season, fans will be able to watch three live games on Sky Sports in Round 25.
The round will kick-off on Wednesday 24 August when play-off chasing Leeds Rhinos host Huddersfield Giants (8pm KO).
The following night Toulouse, who face Catalans Dragons in a French Derby, will look to stave off the threat of relegation. In addition to this, Wakefield Trinity have kindly agreed to move their kick-off time against Hull KR 15 minutes earlier so both games start at the same time. This will allow fans to follow these two games as the drama unfolds.
Friday night’s live action sees a top of the table clash as fierce rivals Wigan Warriors and St Helens go head-to-head at the DW Stadium.

Will there be a big screen at the ground so we can watch the drama in France while watching our live game
I remember a last day relegation, Trinity or Giants, when we had to beat Salford at the Willows and Giants had to win their game (I’ve forgotten who they played). We beat Salford after being behind and Bobbie Goulding sent off, Giants lost their match, The Giants game was on sky, but transmission often cut to our game, to show the “Drama”.
I think Trinity ought to get extra payment from Sky for providing years of relegation drama for hem to broadcast. :D
Does anyone else think Sky and it’s commentary team just long for that day of Drama.

yes we are so accommodating. it would also have been nice to have the same KO time on the last game of the season , by forcing Huddersfield to play at a neutral venue. It seems some clubs are more accommodating than others

Quite right, most of the RL world see Trinity as a soft touch. Wasn’t there a time when all the games on the last day of a season, had to be played same day same time therefore no advantage/disadvantage to teams involved in relegation or final position matches.

Well it would have been the case this season - until the footie fixtures came out....
Surely it would be better for us to play on the Sunday following the footie rather than before???

It doesn't have to be all games but, certainly any games that would have an effect on relegation (or promotion) should kick off at the same time.
You could also argue that this should be the same fo clubs chasing a play off spot.

I am surprised they haven’t asked us to play up at Workington.

The panto season continues

But then you might not know who those teams are until the last week.
Easier to just say everyone is on the same day at the same time.

Agreed, although, we have plenty of fixture and date changes to fixtures.
It would certainly be possible to work out where the conflicts of interest were or, as you suggest, fo the last round of fixtures, same time, same day, although with all the other influences, it sounds more straight forward than it actually is.
