He will be a real handful and should get our sets off to a good start with his strong carries and quick play the balls.

Obviously the concern is his injury record but he’s probably worth the risk. He will become a fan favourite but he does have the odd brain fart in him.

Just wish we could have got him in and up to speed for Toulouse but he will be a boost to the squad whenever he arrives.

His injury record is the only reason we are in with a shout.

I am just started watching his first game back in two years against Melbourne. I wouldn’t expect much after such a long absence but he does generally appear to be well liked by the Manly club and obviously famous for his ferocious tackling prior to his last injury.

I've seen Taufua play live many times and at his best he is an animal, both in defence and as a try scorer

Should this lad arrive the equation is a simple one.

He’s had an injury which he appears to have recovered from.

Bill had an injury he couldn’t recover from.

Hence this guy or almost any current overseas player is a vast improvement.

If he stays fit and fits in he’s a win win.

Of course any player can and do pick up life changing/playing injuries, but the rigours of the NRL will certainly punish you more than playing in super league. You’ve only to watch how they bash each other to wonder how they walk away from some of the collisions . If Taufua does make it to Belle Vue he’ll have been through rigorous Testing on his injury before he could pull a shirt on again and be deemed fit for purpose . What we’ll get if it comes off is a players that’s played at the highest level in our sport and may well have had his nose shoved out whilst he’s been on the sidelines , snooze and you lose so to speak . Hopefully what we’ll get is a cut priced diamond who will lead us on the front foot and take the game to the opposition for many a year .

I see on his wiki page it says he has signed a short term deal with perennial wooden spoonists Wakefield Trinity!!
