Geoff singing the praises of both Willie and the club for the initiative to get new players ( Jai whitbread) to get in touch with a past player and asking about what it meant to them running out in the red, white and blue . The little pocket rocket is made up saying it really makes him feel part of the club and will be watching how we go with renewed interest . Brilliant by the club IMO ,and certainly going the right way both on and off the field .

Just seen that. Great idea from WP, not one I've seen others push but it's certainley gets players, particularly from the otherside of the world, immersed into what it means to play for a club like Trinity.

WP is asking the players to ring former players to have a chat to them about the history of Trinity and what it means to them.

I guess he is trying to get the lads emotionally attached to the club.

It seems to have worked on 2 levels Whitbread called Bagnall who also now feels reconnected with the club too.

Nice initiative.

It’s those extra efforts by all concerned that can make the difference , instead of just turning up and taking the money ,it’s about buying into the Trin thing which hopefully will have a positive effect on the pitch .

Fantastic idea
Gets players involved past and present . Some of our past players would have some great stories to pass on to players and fans alike, about what it is to play for Wakefield Trinity..

As a side note
Geoff Bagnall will live long in my memory not just for the Yorkshire cup win … but for the way he and the rest of the team dismantled Leeds at Headingley in a famous 0 : 17 win
92 I think..

Not a big named marquee player or even a household name when he arrived ,just a solid all round grafter who gave his all , and IMO one of the best overseas players to grace this club ,and he left us with a lot of good memories for those of us who were fortunate enough to see him play .

Wow brilliant idea.

It’s little things that cost nothing that often make the difference.

If this is an example of WP’s attention to detail it bodes well. It won’t have an instant effect but over time it makes a difference.

In the same way MC has taken the club from financial untouchables within Wakefields business community to trusted organisation this will do the same with players, especially overseas ones who know little about the club.

Again, spot on idea.

I agree. One of the best pound for pound scrum halves we've had.
He'd fit well into today's game.
