64 in 40 games doesn't sound like an awful lot, so I presume he was the stand-in for the regular kicker when injured so they came in a small number of games, which suggests he's handy. Being handed the tee when Ponga was injured isn't a bad reference, if that's how they came about.

I presume he was, all I know is that CC mentioned him as a goal kicker.

48 in 17 games for Newcastle during 2019-2020 looks a much better indication 85% success rate in 2019 (33 from 39) 94% success rate in 2020 (15 from 16)
Looks like a decent kicker to me

In the majority of the 40 games he played, he would not necessarily have been the kicker.
His 64 successes came from a lot less than 40 games - does someone want to go through the games 1 by 1, to see who was doing the scoring?

Yeah, that's what I meant, that he wasn't first choice, but being second choice behind Ponga shows he is good. I can't remember if Mitchell Pearce is a kicker.
There are a lot of very good kickers who don't necessarily end up as first choice. Westerman was first choice at Cas when young but not when he went to Hull, because Tickle was there.
Perhaps the first choice ends up being the pick amongst those players who don't do as much work. Why have a tired number 9 kicking when you can have a fresher number 1, if their skills are broadly at the same level?
