Not a player I am familiar with, but based on the highlights he seems decent enough. Can certainly put a tackle in.

Fishermanscap if we sign a better player ,we become a stronger team ,we start winning more matches ,so we get more people through the gates.We have not signed any body yet who will get new fans down .

Who exactly are you suggesting we sign? If nothing else if the club dont have the cash they aren't going to speculate on phantom stayaway support to fund any signing.

Josh is a sound signing for you. He's got bags of natural talent and can defend. He's been down the pecking order at Salford as he's had Hastings, Lui, Lolohea, Tomkins, and Lussick ahead of him in the positions he plays. Moving on was always going to be the best option for him, especially as Brown and Atkin have come into the squad for next season. This isn't a slight on Wood, just unfortunate that we have a number of players ahead of him as he's still a young lad. It wouldn't make any sense for him to sit in the reserves, and I wish him luck.

He'll go well for you, I have no doubt as he's got bags of talent and he'll be hungry to impress.

I think we will have to settle for good players making the team better so they win more and attract a crowd
You are talking Wally Lewis or Jonathan Davies level signing to put numbers on the crowd.

But it doesn’t work like that never has, sorry mate but there is no truth in what you say.

For a start what on earth do you mean by ‘better players’, give us some names?

Who are these people who will cough up £300 pounds for a season ticket because we sign a player with a reputation. Answer none. The only thing that will tempt new fans is a winning team and I’m afraid that doesn’t necessarily come from big name signings, quite the opposite a lot of the time.

It’s just a fantasy I’m afraid, hard work and commitment is what will take us forward not names.

Just out of interest isn’t Westerman a big enough name?

When he's injury free he always gives 100% But he's had three Big operations on his shoulder, Which for a 23 Year Old is a lot of Damage.

In response to Fishermanscrap on selling season tickets, they do keep the club in the news and get them talked about, good for the club and the sponsors.

I'm sure a few fence-sitters may well be stirred enough to invest in a season ticket encouraged by the recruitment activity.

We should all seek the positives, too many fans of the Desponds on here doom and gloom in all they hear and read about

I think it does at certain clubs but for some reason not at Wakefield. You do get a lot of fence-sitters as you put it at some clubs, Leeds is a great example but I've not come across many in Wakefield. Maybe a Wally Lewis type signing might do it but then we'd have to let half the team we already have go, he gets injured we get relegated and any increase in ticket sales is lost. I might have had an effect after say the 2017 season which ended with us in really good form so there is also an element of timing.

In conclusion, any increase in sales imho would be a very short term gain and an expensive error. The trick for me is signing them before they are stars which we do quite well, keeping them used to be he issue. Now we do keep them it just needs time and a bit of luck for that to pay off. Also, we do have a stadium to fund and I have no idea how that will be done.
