An excellent post. It can be easy to forget how far we have come after an abysmal showing Like that

What would a Cockney know about rugby league?

Re: Perspective : Mon May 20, 2019 1:16 pm
I reserve the right to an opinion. If its unacceptable I will say so. This win as a team, lose as team nonsense carries no weight with me. I spend a good chuck of our family income on season tickets, match tickets, merch, food & drink, club 1873, match day lottery etc etc and if I'm unhappy I'll have a rant - that's not attacking players or getting personal but performances are not up to standard then I'm not going to say otherwise for fear of falling foul on the social media crowd's sensitivity.

So on to Anfield and Up the Trin!

Re: Perspective : Mon May 20, 2019 1:34 pm
It's a great tweet and there is no doubt whatsoever just how far Trinity have come since 2015, no doubt and credit and thanks to MC and his staff for achieving this

However, losing to the wooden spoon side of SL (twice) is mickey poor.

It was the first time, although, in a way, it was possibly understandable that we though thet we had only to turn up to gain the 2 points.
Following that loss, there was the expected fall out at having been thrashed by the league's newcomers and IIRC, Chester took some responsibility and said that we would learn from it but, we didn't learn

In the grand scheme of things, the loss isn't THAT important but, regardless of the clubs stability and it's progression towards being a top 5/6 SL club, it's not good enough.

We move on to Magic, where a victory, would go a long way to erasing the memory of Saturday (and the opening day defeat) but, it's absolutely imperative that the management team work out just why we were so bloody poor and rectify things for next time.

The 2 defeats could well make the difference between qualifying for the play offs and a mid-low final league position and whilst we'd all rather have that, than where we were in 2015, this season promised so much more and we have to capitalise on the squad that we have as we dont know what next season or subsequent seasons will bring.

Sort it out and lets have Trinity back to winning ways, sooner, rather than later.

Re: Perspective : Tue May 21, 2019 8:15 am
The real perspective is that London were offered a lifeline by Leeds continued decline and they went for it. At home on their plastic pitch they do ok, why did people expect them to lay down and die? We have twice caught them at the wrong time, no excuses we have been poor but London have been goodish on the day, though clearly can't defend.

London are fighting for their lives, that used to be us! Talk of stopping watching Trinity based on these two results is depressing in the extreme, I mean seriously is that all it takes for some to lose heart. Makes me cringe because usually in the same sentence they accuse the players of being gutless, takes one to know one I suppose.

Now come on, heads up and carry on, supporting Trinity is never easy. :thumb:

Exactly! And we used to delight in upsetting 'big' teams by exploiting their complacency and getting right in their faces. Well done London for showing that a bit of skill coupled with grit and tenacity can upset 'better' teams.

As for Wakey - we're on the right path, just a bit of a stumble.
