I think I’ll withhold my opinion regarding the Leeds signings until we have played them.
The one thing tat has always bugged me about most Trinity teams is an inability to raise the anti for big games and for games where we are total favourites as per London.
Other teams get them selves up for games whilst we stroll on the pitch like a bunch of Homer Simpson’s and are already beaten after 20 minutes when we finally wake up.
Hudds used to be the classic now it’s Cas. Leeds not so bad because they used to be so much better than us full stop. Now Leeds are as weak as I’ve ever seen them and should be vulnerable to a hungry Wakefield. So cue 17 well fed Homers turning up to help Leeds turn their season around - say what you like about Cas but they would never let the chance of giving Leeds a good kicking go begging.
So as I say I’ll reserve judgement, not just for Leeds but for every SL team - London was a lesson for us all (I hope)
We seem unable to cope with the "favourite" tag and it's been that way for most of the last 25-30 years.
Trinity have for all of this period, performed better when they have been clear underdogs, with a point to prove.
I guess its down to belief, which is a different part of the game for us.
Apart from London, the worst recent performance in this respect was getting done easily by Salford in the cup.
Having beaten them in the league in the previous week, albeit in a close game, we went down with a whimper in the cup fixture, which pretty much signaled the end of our season.
Although we're not quite in must win territory (especially after only 2 rounds), we need at least 2 wins from our next 3 fixtures.
Let's just hope the Fifita rumours are wrong
