The scrum is ok as it is now. It punctuates the play and gives the opportunity of a set piece move. Tyler Randal at Salford being a great example

I don`t think there are any rules within the game to stop teams contesting at a scrum? It`s just teams choose not to the majority of the time, i have seen us turn the ball over a number of times in the past few years when pushing at the scrum.

Come stand with us, I always throw a "feeding" in when stood with opposition supporters, always gets a reaction, every time.

Surely it should be down to the referee to eliminate these tactics and to enforce the rules with sin-binning if necessary. I well remember the tussles between hookers and props in the contested scrums. They were a key element of the forward game,
and the hooker wasn't just another half-back. Nowadays, whats gonna be the next ruling re scrums eh: that the non-offending scrum half be allowed a free 20m run unopposed???
