Hundreds of great memories. Regularly, including very recently, mention stuff concerning such as Solomona and Poching. Keith Smith also gets plenty. Make it thousands.

Best of luck to Scott, unless he's involved against us. He was a big part of the improvement in the team climbing the league. That is what he deserves to be remembered
for.

Well I for one have to admire Wallo on this one.

He never liked Grix and he still doesn’t - what’s wrong with that?

I liked Grix but I can accept others don’t. He’s not slagged him off as a person just doesn’t rate him as a player and is happy to say so.

I get annoyed at people who pick on young players because I don’t think it’s fair - give them a chance. At 35 Grix is not young and his career is now open for discussion - that doesn’t mean it can only be a round of back slapping, he’s bound to have his critics.

I do and I’m a genius.

Possibly but we did get back to 18 - 16 by halftime and Broughy missed quite a few goal attempts so definitely better opportunities to still recover.

I always thought Chris Feather's loose carry about 18 minutes past 8 on Friday October 1st 2004 was the most costly error until Grix's. We were bringing the ball out at 14 nil up in the play offs and Wigan were rocking but they got possession and scored off the set. So close to progression to the elimination final as it was then called. Wigan got on a roll and we didn't score again.

Was that the same match BJ and korkidas were sent off my Ashley Kline for minor/made up infringements?

We had Wigan well beaten too, I seem to recall Andy farrel carried Wigan on his own the last 15 minutes of that game, he's was at the end of his RL career but was still amazing, he was a once in a generation player

Saying you don't think someone is that good a player is fine. But he basically bags him for one error in one game that led to a try and says it's the most significant error in 50 years. Well, what about from exactly the same game where Matty Ashurst misses a tackle under the sticks and Saints score. Why is that not just as significant? Or Liam Finn leaving a huge gap in the line for Theo Fages to score? Or any of the countless other errors players will have made during that game. He just has a massive chip on his shoulder about Grix for some weird reason.

FFS! Can you not see that there are two completely different issues here.

1. Grix's error was the most significant error since Don Fox's because;
The timing. 20 seconds of a game remaining so no opportunity to put things right.
The lost reward. Top 4 place with all the kudos and financial gain.

2. My thought's on Grix the player are irrelevant to the facts above. BTW not surprised he has scuttled back to his beloved Shudds again.

But Jakey just debunked that because the other errors in the game caused the same problem.
By all means bag Grix for not being as good as you want him to be but he is not solely to blame for what in fact would have got us to one more game against Cas. Nowhere near as significant as 68.
We lost a close semifinal to Cas in 69 and we were favourites to beat Widnes in 75 and lost a close one there too.

It's a team sport.

I said since then. Doubt that incident will ever be surpassed.

I have attended the vast majority of games since then and stand by my comments that "due to the timing and lost reward" it takes 2nd place. Pulling incomparable run of the mill, everyday errors out of a hat doesn't change that fact.
