To counterpoint this; it is them who employed and continue to employ a coach who is taking the club backwards. It is them who sign off on all of the players we've signed.

Going to get shot down .The reason why we are looking so bad this season is that Teams in S L were allowed to dump players who are past it or not good enough ,on to us to free up money for this season Not one but 8 players who would have not got in to our first team last year ,all over seen by the coaching staff .With these signings They have taken us back 5 years .Feel so sorry for the Chairman and Mr Carter they are watching the excellent work they have done been destroyed by a very poor coaching staff .

Out of interest, who are the 8 players?

We haven't had a side which is playing well in a couple of seasons now, just the odd lucky win. There's nothing to lose by removing the lazy senior players and replacing them with someone who might have a spark of desire to win about them.

Under the current coach, there's little to no chance of them seeing any progression, he's more interested in keeping his golfing buddies sweet than developing the squad

I still disagree.
Our backs 1 - 5 are ok (obviously, injuries to Johnstone and now Kershaw doesn't help).
However our problems yesterday stemmed from lack of ANY organisation from our 2 halves and an utterly inept pack, which left us forcing the play, with crazy offloads and having absolutely no clue with ball in hand in their half of the field.

I know that we have Batch and Crowther who can com in, plus Green and Arona but, if there is a young prop or halfback in the reserves/academy that is up to the task, I would be staggered.
Much as we would all love to have a couple of young kids coming through, I think that it's just wishful thinking to say "get the kids in".
Yes they would bring some enthusiasm but, yesterday needed our pack to match theirs and someone to deal with McIllorum, who was getting away with murder in the ruck and NOBODY did a damn thing about it.

The 20% win record says enough to know that there needs to be some change here.

Our halves weren't up to the job and the forwards didn't want to know.

Nobody has mentioned our kicking game which was bloody woeful, the worst for a long time.

More what I'm trying to say is that I'd forgive losses on the scale we've seen if it was a very junior side which was playing. But it isn't, and while we have them, they're not being played. The coach is more interested in picking lazy players which are past their best than developing younger players in a safe league year (no chance of relegation).

I agree, our back 5 is probably the only saving grace of the entire team, but they're not getting the ball in attack, and are having to cover lazy forwards in defence, and as you say, the kicking game is woeful. We simply don't have one.

I wonder if the powers that be saw these type of performances becoming the norm hence our desire to push for no relegation. I bet Featherstone are gutted they did not proceed with the cup match even without any pre game preparation.

Did Chester really say in the post match interview that the game had gone after 25 minutes? Is it just me that's hearing it come across that way?

That's a proper Webster-esque statement, no wonder there's no drive or passion in the squad when the coach gives up on a game with 2/3rds left to play

Indeed it will.

If CC is to survive he needs to step back and find what he brought when he first started.

Like most coaches I suspect he can no longer see the grass for the trees. I don’t know why but coaches for some reason become obsessed with dogma rather than leading. For example I guarantee the CC will persist with Gigot no matter what, more interested in proving himself right rather than picking the players who deserve to be picked. He has time to rectify this but not much, he needs to re-adjust and step back no matter how counter intuitive that might seem. Hope he does as negativity of any kind ruins teams.

Of course it’s not just CC to blame but we all know he will get the blame regardless.

Yes I know...what a strange comment to make losing 24-0 and Tanginoa and Gigot both off with match ending injuries...

At that point I was scrambling to get on Betfair and back us to win in the in running market!
