Really strong squad....lol Won't finish top of the Championship and won't make an impact on M8s
1. McNally - Championship standard 2. Higson - Championship/Championship 1 standard 3. Worthington - Championship standard 4. Armstrong - Championship standard 5. Kay - once had promise but now Championship standard 6. Chase - More trouble than he's worth, 1 good season at Cas, 7. Brierley - Good broken field runner but couldn't organise a PuiaB 8. Weston - Who? 9. Higham - Has been, now pinching uncle Dels money 10. Emmitt - Championship standard 11. Paterson - Crock, bad temperament, uncommitted 12. Hanson - Past it now, though even in his prime he was average 13. Hock - Don't make me laugh!
14. Beswick - film flam wind and p!ss one trick player 15. Acton - amateur standard ought to be at Leigh Easts 16. Moimoi - 6 years ago maybe, got found out in M8s 17. Barlow - Standard Leigh thug, Championship standard
18. Pownall - see Barlow 19. Pala - Who? 20. Matua - laughing up his sleeve that someone's still paying him 21. Ridyard - Best player at Leigh but Coach is too thick to see it 22. Foster - Meh! 23. Hopkins - Championship 2 standard 24. Spencer - horrible player, can't pass, catch, run, tackle 25. Dixon - gone, can't hack it no more 26. Sarsfield - saw sense and deserted
I would of come up with a similar analysis, although its hard to argue they have some talented individuals those individuals are uncommitted as shown time and time again i.e. Chase, Hock, Patterson. Looks like Sheens saw sense and showed them the door as soon as he took charge.
First choice 17 - I don't think there would be one player I would swap.
Id say the only exception would be Tom Armstrong, I don't agree he is just Championship standard, I think he would be good in SL and probably would be in the Saints team now if he hadn't have chosen to just play part time a few years back.
Depends what The Avenger means by Super League standard I guess. I agree that out of our backs only Rangi Chase & Willie Tonga have played regular 'top flight' RL, doesn't mean that the others couldn't play in SL though.....as for our forwards, if Wakefield had signed a 'few' of these, doubt you'd be complaining that much..... Some of this 'one liners' about Leigh players are quite funny, judging them by games he's seen on the TV I guess....but not all players who have played in Super League are of that standard, were they ? Last seasons Leigh squad won at Wakefield, and lost at home to Wildcats by just 1 point (not a bad effort for a team full of championship standard players) FWIW I don't think you'll finish bottom of the league, you will have a fantastic coach in charge right from the start of the season which will be a massive boost, guess you'll be hoping for top 10 finish at least. Personally I think Salford & Widnes will find it tough, but guess we'll have to wait & see. Merry Xmas to Wildthing and other 'Trinity' supporters, (maybe) we'lll meet again in 2016.

Range Chase is one of the most gifted players to play in Super League. Unfortunately for him, it's a team game, and each team he has played in has done better without him. Yeah, he'll pull plenty of tricks against lower league players but Leigh's best chance is to be a solid unit of hardworking players, not a bunch of people trying to work out what Rangi's next magic trick will be.

Read Terry Kelly's post then you'll understand my reply better
But you've just done the same as he has Avenger. He looks an idiot for coming on here but you have just trashed his team too so are not much better. Leigh will be playing us this year I have no doubt.
I have read it, but 'your squad is very poor compared to ours' comment, it is definitely not....wish we had Ben Jones Bishop on the right wing (for starters). Ignore Terry, he only posts to 'wind up' folk.....but your summary of our players is ridicilous....i.e. Liam Kay (in incredible form) why did you let him go ????

I could play in SL, but I wouldn't be much cop.
Christmas, Bah .... who let them chuffin sheep in again.
