Because it's not 2 million, but it's not far off and it's certainly way more than you've invested.
In fact please tell us exactly what your cash investment in the club is? Mines £500, with that poultry figure in mind I don't feel able to dismiss MC's contribution in the same appalling manner you have just done.
Finally pray tell how you know Michael Carters personal wealth, you must know or how could you state he doesn't have that kind of money, I'm happy to wait for an answer.

Here’s what I actually said
Quote vastmanThere is no record of him putting £2,000,000 into the club, I doubt he’s got the kind of wealth that would allow that sort of investment'"
Hardly an”appalling manner” is it?
He was quoted, as new owners often are, when he took over as being worth around £4 million, I can’t imagine he’s put half his net worth into the club.

| I don't think we've ever really recovered from the Richardson/Pearman fiasco.
Lost Andy Kelly, lost the ground. nearly lost Super League status (if not for Neil Fox singing John Kear's praises), nearly lost the club twice.
Happy Days.

The rot set in well before that. Flattening the South stand, moving the ground to build a supermarket on North end was the first draft idea.
We also had a period in the 80's when we were in division2. Those days were grim and for that reason, championship is not for me.
Carter causes controversy, he may have qualities but from the way he has run the rugby side over the last three years, I am convinced more than ever in the direction the team are going.

| I just think we've got unlucky (again), but this time at the wrong time.
He can't spend money we don't have, and there is no sign that the club is sitting on unspent funds. We can't make players come to us, and we shouldn't spend more than we have. The only other option is that we gamble on pulling in the punters by spending cash we don't have, but the club is rightly cautious about doing that. It's the entertainment business, and we have to provide an entertaining product to attract the crowds, but that path has been trodden before, and it never ends well, if there's no one to fund the shortfall.
Personally, I don 't mind if he's a tough cookie in a business sense. I'd rather we paid what we think a player is worth, no more.
I've said it before, but we're three years too late with the ground. We could have maybe got away with it, but the promoted side has come up looking good, which is where our luck runs out. We've avoided the drop before because of the quirks of franchising, or because of the weakness of the promoted side, or because we only had to beat a championship side to stay up. This year, our luck has run out. Poorest side. Cas will get better. Leigh will get wins. We will go into the Championship.
If the ground had happened three years ago, we'd be spending the cap and picking up those IMG points, and maybe even a crowd to match.

I wouldn't question the fact that he's put £2m into the club. He was paying into the club 2 years before taking over from Glover. However, I would say a large chunk of this was at the start of taking over. It equates to about £14k per month. Say what you will about Glover, but during 2012 and the first half of 2013, he was putting over double that in.
He has said that there was about £2m of debt in the past, though the figures quoted over the years have changed. When he took over, we also applied to the RFL for a loan, and also used the transfer fee received for Tim Smith to clear some of the debt.

That's quite funny to imply £14,000 a month is any less than an outstanding contribution.

He had invested somewhere in the region of £260k in the club after Jimmy Elston talked him into getting involved.
His whole reason for taking over the club was to safeguard that money because it would have been forfeit, lost had the club gone into Administration post Glover/Elston. Chris Brereton was in it for the very same reason albeit a lesser amount of around £170k.

I wasn't implying that it was poor, PT, just trying to put it into some context.
