Probably because the prospect of playing for a more successful team was too good to turn down

Similar to Walmsley a couple of seasons back, whose gonna turn down a move to Saints?

I was gutted that Barba chose Saints over us too. On the positive side though it did save MC a couple of hundred grand off the budget.

Also, he may not wish to compete against his brother for a match day squad place as they are both trying to gain a regular first team place, rather than a guaranteed first team player to play alongside each other, such as with the Burgess brothers at Souths

Saints are having a good year and could possibly be setting up for a few years success. Showing some great ambition in trying to get Naquiama in for next year as well. I can see why he signed for them even if we were interested which is unconfirmed.

he's not the first and won't be the last to not want to play for his local team, good luck to the lad as its a tough game
“The bond between the players is something I’ve never had with any other club. Everyone comes into one and we’re all one group. Whenever we get a new signing, everyone just embraces the culture. It’s what I love about this club and I just can’t wait for the journey ahead.”

That must make James a perfect age to be playing week in week out?
If we are dragging our feet to sign Arona, then James and another player should be getting a shot?
