Well, looks like the only people on par with Gerrard looking like an idiot is FlexWheeler and Saddened.

I'm assuming you will change your posting stance now saying you knew all along that Liverpool would f**k up and that it will go down to the wire, despite the other week proclaiming that Liverpool already have it in the bag.

I was unaware man city clinched the title this afternoon.

Well it's certainly not in the bag for Liverpool as you and Saddo claimed last week.

I must admit I thought Liverpool were pretty much home and dry, and would win today. Thankfully I'm was wrong. That said, City will still drop points I think. It is funny when Liverpool lose to Chelsea though, because I know how much the average LFC fan hates Chelsea (plastic club/fans/flags etc). 8-day turnaround won't help Liverpool, and they will be smarting from today. Suarez still not scored in the big six-pointers either

It's an opinion, whats the problem? I thought Liverpool would beat Chelsea today and win their last two as well. I was wrong and I'm delighted about that.

Jose was sensational today, tactically spot on. I've had a great hour watching the Liverpool fans, half of them in full kit, trapsing back from the pub.

But as mentioned it ain't over yet. City just may possibly not win all their remaining games (Just phrasing it like that so you don't flip out again).

It's an amazing title race though. I'm a nervous wreck, unable to sleep before the big games and my side isn't even involved. I'd hate to think what the Liverpool fans are going through now. If they don't win it, I reserve the right to be all over this thread again.

Athletico are showing how a minnow should win a league over in Spain.

When you think a draw would have still kept liverpool in the driving seat, I guess rodgers must be brought into question. Surely a little pragmatism wouldn't have hurt? They could be sitting here on a nil nil 2 games away from the title.

When I posted that i thought liverpool would win the title, city had just lost to liverpool and then drawn with sunderland, very few would have foreseen chelsea then losing against sunderland, and then, inbetween CL semi ties pulling out a result at anfield.

There's so many twists and turns. Due to goal difference chelsea will need both city and liverpool to not only drop points, but lose. A draw and they are still behind on GD, providing they win. City have a tough trip to everton, and they play before liverpool who play on the monday. Drop points in that, and suddenly it's back in liverpool's hands.

Today was a blow for liverpool when they only needed a draw but they still have a good chance.

I don't know why you'd question Rodgers; he didn't tactically plan for Gerrard to slip over, so how does he play for a draw? We really struggled against the deep defence, as most teams would. A lot of people are saying Rodgers needed a plan B, but I hear the same about Barcelona, Bayern and sometimes Real Madrid. At the end of the day, it's a poor comment to make as Liverpool can play possession, counter-attack and direct, we don't have a big man to lump it up to so does that mean we don't have a plan B? Even a target man wouldn't have worked today. For me, we didn't play with enough pace but it's easy saying that, I've said before it's almost impossible to play a solid, deep defence. Especially one with such numbers.

I don't know who'll win the league, as I'm sure most fans feel the same. Both Liverpool and City could lose and Chelsea could be right back in, it's been like that all season, despite Liverpool only arriving quite late due to a stupendous run of form from the new year. Most Liverpool fans are overwhelmed with the year already, everybody wants to win the league but I don't think there's a fan alive expecting it.

In terms of long term damage a Man City title win has the potential to be a lot more dangerous than a Liverpool one.

I don't care though. The scousers just can't win the league. If Audrey Roberts messes this one up and lets the scousers take the title then Audrey needs to bugger off back to South America.

If both Audrey and Brenton mess up though and we win the league, I love those guys!

This season could be awesome or it could utterly suck. We go out of the CL on Wednesday and the scousers win the league. I don't even think I'd watch any of the World Cup I'd be so gutted.

Minimum I want from this season. Champions League final and Liverpool not winning the league.

I'm just raising the question. Rodgers has done a tremendous job this season all in all, but he is not beyond reproach. From the position liverpool were in with 3 games to go, to not win the league would be a blow. Liverpool only needed a draw, yet they went at chelsea from the 1sy whistle like only a win would do. The logic people use is, well gerrards slip had nothing do with liverpool tactics. But had liverpool taken a safer approach, and gone in a ''must not lose'' mentality, mourinho would no doubt have had to adjust chelsea approach, and it may have meant they were pressing them in different areas and not so high up as ba was, i don't know. Bottom line is only a draw was needed and liverpool went at it hell for leather.

It was a tactical masterclass from mourinho, a real number. But it came across as naive from rodgers.
