It’s a huge moment in the history of the club, so I can see why it’s there. It’s a brave call to position it like that, in some sort of Batman cartoon style and they may have been wiser to do it with Flower head in hands walking off but it’s the clubs choice.

If only all the people whose pi*s it’s boiling on forums and social media would give praise when the club goes out of its way to celebrate opposition players milestones or show support to guys like Rob Burrow and Jack Johnson, I’d give their opinions more consideration.

For what it’s worth I’ve had my say on twitter today and I don’t agree with it. But I have said the piece on the whole is fantastic and the fan zone itself is a fantastic concept which looks to be thriving. 14,000 for a game v Toulouse is a great effort and it’s off the back of the community work Wigan have been putting in since Peet took over.

I’m surprised Wigan have included it. They’ve made quite a clear and obvious effort to clean up their perceived image with fans and the media and for me this goes against that. There’s quite a large backlash on social media from fans of all clubs (including your own) and for me it’s a bit of an own goal.

I’ve seen Wigan fans say “oh well it’s part of our history why should we ignore it.” Well it’s simple, I don’t think you need to celebrate or glorify certain incidents. The equivalent is Saints having a piece of art like this and showing Sean Long walking into a bookies. That would be tasteless and would get a hugely negative reaction from many on here no doubt and I would personally be a bit embarrassed.

Like I said it’s a great concept, a clever piece of work in many ways but the club have slightly taken the gloss off it by including that incident and unfortunately all the talk is now about Flower and Hohaia and not all the other fantastic memories on there.

Let's cut to the chase and call it what it is - people are saying they don't like it, because it's an easy shot to take a Wigan. Frankly, the majority of the g!imps moaning about it, don't really care about LOH. They just want to stick the knife into and this is an easy shot to take.

Massive own goal by the club as they didn't need to include it. That being said, the 'outrage' is laughable. Loads of people complaining about a cartoon on a wall in a club they don't support. Get a life FFS.

The same artist has done a Man U one and it includes Cantonas kung fu kick. It's part of history. The Wigan one includes Barry Macs "tackle" on Sironen, Farrell and Scully fighting, Tyrer being carried off after Hepworths assault, It happened as much as I wish it hadn't it's part of a history.

However if you look at that montage it's a very, very, very small part of it.

Well said.

A Saints fan crying foul about an incident that handed them the title on a plate.

Perhaps we should also have included Gareth Hock 'deliberately' throwing the ball at the little girl 20 rows back in the Saints stand, which McManus said he would personally investigate (and never mentioned again). What a joke.

To be fair one of the authors on Redvee has completely gone against the grain and stated on twitter that he has no issue with the inclusion and that previous Mish-mash works from other clubs have included incidents good and the not so good.

How dare you. There has NEVER been ANY player for St Helens that has done anything remotely controversial or 'dodgy'

Hang your head in shame!!!

A valid point.

Sinfield and Burrow are on there, but that gets no mention.

I think you are entirely missing the point, it was a violent act of thuggery on a player unconscious and defenceless. Flower served his ban showed remorse and gradually it received less attention over the years.

The Wigan culture and structure under Peet has been a good one this year and as a result their has been an element of respect in the direction they are going.

Then suddenly this poster was revealed and approved by the club recycling the incident as though it’s some sort of cartoon joke with the narrative KLONK. I,m quite suprised the way it has been presented.

I'm not too sure how to upload an image on here but surely the Mish mash has to be edited. There's also a Leigh flag on there!

Has anyone else spotted it?
