I'm surprised LH didn't retire due to embarrassment. Imagine having a 20 yard run up, smacking someone blindsided with all you've got and all that happens is they stagger and then knock you out
I personally wouldn't have included it but there we are.
Am I right in thinking Hohaia had concussion issues prior to that Grand Final? I think the punches may have exacerbated those issues but then he played on after for half a season? In some cases that half season was under sufferance too being "forced" to play and being encouraged to take pain meds to get through.
Saints themselves weren't exactly squeaky clean when it comes to the aftermath of the incident.
Despite all that, I reiterate the fact that I personally wouldn't have included it. It gets replayed a lot. RL/Wigan/That final got a ton of coverage because of it but yeah it shouldn't have been included for me.
It’s a huge moment in the history of the club, so I can see why it’s there. It’s a brave call to position it like that, in some sort of Batman cartoon style and they may have been wiser to do it with Flower head in hands walking off but it’s the clubs choice.
If only all the people whose pi*s it’s boiling on forums and social media would give praise when the club goes out of its way to celebrate opposition players milestones or show support to guys like Rob Burrow and Jack Johnson, I’d give their opinions more consideration.

A valid point.
Sinfield and Burrow are on there, but that gets no mention.

Lance was regularly knocking himself out because he could never get his head in the right place. Having watched his entire career, I refuse to beleive it was solely due to the Flower incident.

Yes he already had concussion issues. He didn't even retire. He played on and then used the incident as an excuse for retiring. He was still as cr@p after the incident as he was before it but it was an easy out to blame that. I suppose Goulding et al who are trying to sue the RFL are all Wigan's fault in some sort of guise too. I do love this self indulgent, houlier than thou attitude other sides have when it comes to Wigan. Just makes it all the sweeter.
I am the same as you, i re-iterate that i wouldn't have had it in too, but, hey ho, it is. There are real issues in the world at the minute. People are dying because of war in the Ukraine. People are dying of famine in Africa and Asia, the country is being driven into poverty and someone has drawn a cartoon in Wigan.

That's something which I forgot to include on my original post in this thread.
It's otherwise a superb image. Overall it's great and it's different. Opposition fans can see that and they'll look for the slightest chink in the armour so to speak to detract from the fact it's a great piece of artwork which the club can be very proud of.
EDIT - It also has a Leigh flag on it, oh dear. I retract the above. Great idea but poor execution seemingly.
