Toulouse at home : Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:33 pm
Good to see the majority of the players had last week off, a lot went away on holiday which will freshen them up mentally and physically after playing week in week out and winning the cup.

Call me soft but personally I would afford Farrell and Bateman the same opportunity and give them the week away from camp and bring them back for Wakefield away and Magic.

Will do the morale good and freshen them up for the run in.

We have a pretty healthy squad touch wood and on paper Toulouse at home (after alot of their squad have played for France) is as easy as it gets.

Word is KPP is back in training and going to return this week or next week. Would like another look at Halsall and Nickleson to get his home debut.

Partington foot was in a boot last week so guessing he’ll miss some time.

Field
French
Halsall
Bibby
Marshall
Smith
Tommy
Singleton
Byrne
Isa
KPP (or Shorrocks if not yet fit)
Ellis

Mago
Havard
Nickleson
Shorrocks/McDonnell

Anyone know if the England game counts as one of Smithies games for his ban? If so he should return next week.

If there's any doubt about Field's hamstring then French to fb with Miski on the wing

Peet hinted we may see a rest for one of/both of Faz and Bateman. I think I’d play Bateman with him having had the rest at Cas recently but rest Farrell and that opens up an opportunity for somebody else.

I’d go-

Field
French Halsall Bibby Marshall
Leuluai Smith
Singleton Powell Mago
Bateman Isa Ellis

Subs
Havard Byrne Partington Pearce-Paul

A chance for Halsall for me. I’d also give Mago a start just to have a look at him from the off and to see how he’d cope with longer minutes. We surely didn’t bring him in solely to play 15 mins a game from the bench each and every week. Is he capable of more? Can he keep up with the pace of a game from the start? Will he be excited by the opportunity? Well, if we can’t have a look at it at home against Toulouse, then when can we? Doubt it’ll happen mind.

Isa keeping his right centre spot according to MP on Wigan TV.

KPP and Shorrocks in the back row id guess if Farrell and Bateman don’t play.
