Interesting to see O'Neill taking the line on. He is a big lad with good hands and feet. He has played 13 and seems a more solid frame than Shorrocks so we did not suffer when we had Powell, Shorrocks and O'Neill all on the pitch at the same time. It is good to see KPP back but I would still like to see Halsall in the centre. Our attack was effective against a ramshackle defence and KPP drove the ball in well but having a combination of KPP and ISA at second row and centre is always going to be a bit underwhelming.

The most pleasing part of Miski’s game look to be the carries from our end again. Nearly 170 metres with the ball. Add in 4 try’s and it’s a great nights work.

To be fair, his tries didn't take a lot of scoring. But you have to catch the pass, and make the finish, and he did that. And he had a good all round game too, which probably matters more.
And, y'know, isn't it great to have a guy in your side who can score a try like Field's? And hey, we've got two of them!
I’d say 3 if you include Marshall.
Probably the game that Miski needed to build his confidence.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him tried at centre in the future should we need cover.

A comfortable win with any number of the first 17 missing. We all have our stand out moments and players but to me Harry Smith's goal kicking was exceptional. Most of our tries were wide out and Harry kicking so many was a stand out performance for me.

I can’t see that Miski getting a run at centre. We have Isa, KPP and Halsall (another 3 today for Newcastle).
What having him at the club does mean is that we have cover on the wings and at 1 as it gives us the luxury of resting either Field or French, with Miski taking a spot on the wing if we rest Field with French moving to 1.
Miski is a very good option as back up winger, his carry is very good although I don’t think he is a natural finisher to the levels of our other wingers.
In regards to centre Halsall need to be given the role as first reserve next year. He is clearly a fantastic prospect but we need to see him slowly introduced to see if he is a realistic starting centre in ‘24 probably displacing Thornley.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Think that’s 11 tries in 4 games for Halsall.
Really interested who gets the right centre spot for the next few months.

Any news on Ellis? Watching by the game back it didn’t look good. He’s been solid for us so far. Think one of these games it’s going to click of him and he’ll be amazing. Maybe the signing of Cooper may coax this out
