Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

I’m double jabbed but declining the booster. I honestly don’t see why we’re having to go through this rigmarole again. COVID19 is going nowhere, what do we do? Restrictions everytime a new variant comes around? Which it will repeatedly.

I’m no conspirator or anti vax, I’ve had all my inoculations and the vaccine, but they went on about a low uptake in the booster jab and now suddenly there’s a wave of infections and vaccine passports despite saying they wouldn’t be brought in, have been brought in?

Throw in the complete disregard this mob have for their own laws, how little they think of is common people and now they lie like it’s going out of fashion is it little wonder there’s such disdain for these corrupt clowns in No10? And therefore anything they say COVID wise? Why anyone follows what these clowns are saying anymore is beyond me.

Spot on. Same as you, double jabbed but aint getting the booster. Can't be that bad ifnthe powers that be are having parties whilst we can't have parents round for Christmas dinner. Seems funny the peak day of infections will land on Christmad day, just in time eh? So people will either be scared into getting the booster or not seeing people. Well the Gov and covid and fork right off.

I'm hoping the club don't bring in the vaccine passports, this will all blow over by the seasons start.

My husband had Covid a few weeks back, rough for a couple of days and it did seem to take him awhile for it to fully go but he said the same thing he got dose of flu a couple of Christmas ago and he said that was far worse than Covid, but everyone is different of course

200,000 with omicron, but only 10 in hospital with it and 1 death. Look at the odds and stats, forget what the government say and make your own mind up. In the Delta wave out of 1000 people with it 100 needed hospital treatment, with Omicron out of 1000 with it 38 need hospital treatment, and not ICU treatment just oxygen. Over the years of doing medical gasses for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals where we had wards with flu every year its similar to that yet we carried on, albeit with infection control procedures in those wards with flu.

Either way, whilst everyone stops going out, stops seeing friends or relatives (who they may never see again due to death from illness or suicide) and lives miserable lonely scared lives the people that are making these rules and spreading the fear will be partying, socialising, eating out and laughing at you.

Have you been told of its Delta or Omicron? Do they give you that information?

Whilst I can understand people ignoring rules and citing all these Tory rule breaks as reasons but what logical reason can you give for not getting the booster?

The evidence is right in front of you.

Note - any reference to severity of Omicron is premature. We’ve been told countless times it takes a while for hospital figures and deaths to come through in the numbers.

There are a few people in this thread who are clearly picking and choosing which information they do and don’t want to absorb. Very worrying.

There’s 15 hospitalisations from Omicron - how many is there year in year with flu? I almost sound like a conspirator here and trust me that’s not what I am but seriously what are we panicking about? It’s all ‘ifs, coulds, mights’ when the facts are clear; omicron is mild, hasn’t caused a surge in hospitalisations or killed nearly as many as the media scare mongered people into believing it had.

Couldn't agree more tbh.

1 death so far is irrelevant. They’ve already said it takes a while for the deaths to show because it takes longer for serious illness to develop and then the unfortunate happen. Same with hospitalisation but to a lesser extent.

You need to educate yourself a bit more.

Will come back to this post in a few weeks and ask if you admit you were wrong.

I remember arguing with similar posters 18 months ago when they were talking about the original COVID and they were saying similar things about that back then.
Particularly they were talking about Florida etc. and there not being an issue (IIRC MattyB took them to task in the main) - 10 days later, Hundreds of thousands of cases, and a couple of weeks after that Thousands of deaths - Guess what? They all went silent
(I also remember the same lot arguing that if the Democrats didn't win the Election Antifa & BLM would cause mayhem and insurrection whilst the other way round the Republican/Trump party would accept the results - That worked out well didn't it - But I digress).

Listen to the experts
I hate Boris and this Tory lot with a passion, but don't dismiss the experts and what they're saying just because you may or may not be happy with Boris, The Government or the MSM etc.

I’m not too proud to sit back and say I was wrong, I’ve done it many times on here and no doubt many times again.

Where I don’t need to educate myself though is the absolute fact that this is going nowhere. Double jabbed plus booster or not. It will evolve, develop new variants. What do we do? Continue with restrictions for the rest of our lives? I know friends who locked down last year and missed the chance to see their relative one last time who suddenly died. I don’t can’t carry on doing this every few months. The winter always brings an upsurge in hospitalisations through flu, it was in the papers every year so it’s no shock to see an uplift in hospitalisations

We will see.

I probably sound like a conspirator- trust me when I say I’m not.

I’ve listened to the experts, whose credentials I will never doubt btw, but again it’s all “ifs, coulds, mights”. No actual solid facts other than Omicron appears to be more transmissible and less impactive than Delta. Each new variant is going to become the dominant variant, that’s also fact.

I just don’t understand the continuous need for lockdowns/restrictions when the vaccine was supposed to get us out of it. They’re trying to say get boosted with a vaccine that doesn’t work against COVID but if you’re not double jabbed get double jabbed because it works against COVID. I mean, which is it?

It’s frustrating. Life is too short to be locked down, not allowed to see friends/family (which I know hasn’t been brought in yet), not being allowed to enjoy yourself. They told us last time it would be the last time restrictions were implemented knowing full well the chances of another variant were virtually guaranteed. The time to carry on with life came at the ending of the last round of restrictions.

I’ll be honest I hate this type of debate. Like I hated the Brexit one. Happy to leave it there and agree to disagree tbh.
