Great defence again and pretty clueless with the ball but we’ll at least make ourselves tough to beat in the coming weeks. Hardaker played well as did Halsall, Hastings, Havard and Faz for me. It was better from Bateman as well but still more in him.

Dull as dishwater. One thing that stands out for me is that Gildart isn’t fit. I get maybe he doesn’t want his Wigan career ended by an injury but it’s not good for his own mental health to be playing.

Our defending is very good. Halsall is as good as any Wigan player I have seen under a high ball, Sneyd targeted him all match, think teams will realize it's not going to work. He also improved with the ball in hand, another solid game. Zak was our main threat but our attack remains clunky, passing across the line without holding defenders in the line is pretty pointless. Faz was good, Bateman improved, Havard seems to be making the next stride forward in his game. Singleton solid I'm sure he will be fine with a little more experienced help. Shorrocks is busy and you can see a decent player in there. Hastings was probably very good which is pretty much what he does every game shame we haven't more of a clue to make more of him. Bibby Marshall work hard for us and offer strike again in a more organised team they will be fine. I'm not sure if it's me but I get so frustrated watching us play so much dumb rugby. I'm now thinking this is a mixture of lack any of any game plan linked to desperation in attack and over dependency on having to defend. Glad we won but we make hard work of things.

Obviously losing the GF last year was gutting but if we had have sneaked a win Adrian Lam would likely have been given a 3 year + contract. Small silver lining but another two seasons of this snorefest would be a depressing prospect.
