Partington has really impressed me. Didn't look up to at first, but soon got his bearings and is improving week on week. Now a reliable member of the first team squad.
Absolute wind up merchant as well which is always fun. He smashed Chris Hill black and blue in the early stages.

Patrington and Smithies are already the real deal and Byrne not far behind. Probably the best group of forwards we've had coming up from the academy in many years. It's great to see them play the way they do. As others have said, zero respect for reputations and long may it continue!
The prospect of French running off Hastings and Zak off the pair of them next year is truly mouthwatering. French seems to be able to take a gap from almost nothing. His 'no try' tonight was fantastic to watch. He seemed to ghost round players. He has a bit of the Jason Robinson about him.

Think a good kicking game will bring French true potential out. A cheeky chip over the defensive line and let French set off. From what I’ve seen from videos of the guy he will beat most in a foot race. Teams will have two options to deal with it take out French and risk to penalty or fb risks being forced into touch when French catches up

His break from the half way line was brilliant and it’s such a shame the ball bobbled. Credit to Currie for tackle though. That break confirmed for me that we need him in the middle of the park and getting his hands on the ball a lot more than he’d get on the wing. Imagine Hastings bossing the game, setting the direction and French running off him at 6. That’s mouthwatering. Launch Hardaker and Gildart through the channels and we could be devastating. Excited to see how we go. As for Partington and Smithies, I have no words at times. Give them both a 15 year contract!

I get slightly embarrassed at the games at the moment, talking about Smithies and Partington like a giddy 12 year old girl. They really have made our season and at 18 and 20 years old, it’s amazing to think they’re leading our charge. It’s normally the pace and intensity of games that young forwards struggle with but these two have said to opposition packs ‘we’ll match what you’ve got and then raise it’. They’ve been outstanding.

They’re bloody brilliantly to watch. How long are we thinking they’ll be here before they’re off to Aus? If Sutton was appealing then the Aussies will love Smithies.
It’s depressing but suppose we should make the most of them whilst we can.
I had real doubts about Partington judging him now with the team performing better he adds that spark that Hamlin gave. Wire came with a plan to dominate in the forwards, three starting props Hill, Cooper and Akiuala. They wanted the game over ASAP.
