Would never have made it West Coast Train line has ground to a halt . Our lot are struggling to get home this morning after last night . Oxenholme to Carlislie is a swimming pool this morning . Correct decision IMO .

Don't be quoting facts on here Eric, it spoils a good argument.
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

And prey tell us where in Wigan could you have a indoor fan day on the scale of a outside one.
Better to have it again when the weather's better.
"Loads of us were stick outside in the rain, couldn't see what was going on, it was rammed inside." can see it a mile off. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
True, but if you were there yesterday for the game you'd know it was a very good decision to postpone the fan day. The weather was horrendous.
Oh I fully agree with the decision Rogues. I was merely (probably pedantically) pointing out that the conditions in between Oxenholme and Carlisle were irrelevant and that EW’s post to defend the decision was puzzling as far as I was concerned.
We were at Haydock Park yesterday, at the top of the stand under cover but the weather was that bad the rain was being blown in right to the very top at points. That stand is way bigger than the Robin Park Arena stand as well.
The decision to call it off looks a wise one but I suppose the question is how does the future look at Robin Park once the building work is finished. Will we have indoor space for evens and for the fan village in the colder months?

Read my post again . I was replying to the post concerning a bloke bringing his family down from Edinburgh on the train for the fun day. That makes the West Coast rail line being under six inches of water (pictures available on the BBC news online) in places relevant. lol

We have to do. Or else it's just a very expensive training ground.
The club needs to maximise revenues in the arena all year round to not just make it pay but bring in cash that has been lost to the DW all these years.
By bringing events to the arena will go a long way to reducing the clubs annual losses. No reason why we can't start showing overall profits in the next few years once supporters realise that the place to be pre/post games is the arena and not the South Stand bar at the DW.
