Passion and 100% commitment. He had a great game. Belting people all game.
Tony Clubb with the tackle of the season.
Partington & Byrne I would play ahead of Navarette in the future. Smithies looks a real talent. So impressed by him.
Navarette has played really well recently and I thought he was aggressive again tonight. I doubt we’ll have enough bodies to think about dropping him anyway but he’d be well down my list. That’s not to say I’ve not been impressed by Byrne, Partington or Smithies. They’ve all done really well for us and I thought Byrne especially did well tonight. It was a real statement by him and he looks like his confidence is building.
When Byrne came into the side I wasn't convinced he looked up to the pace (unlike Smithies, who looked at home from Day 1), but he has really grown up the last few weeks, and another great effort today. And yeah, Willie Isa was immense in a solid defensive performance all round.
Nobody has mentioned Farrell but once again he was machine like and just did his job quietly but brilliantly. This guy is so underated and does high quality work every week in attack and defence.
Yeah he was very good, and I guess we'd better give a nod to Marshall who took his chances very well. On his second try, though, I couldn't help but think, if the situation were reversed, and it had been our no 7 coming across in cover instead of Sneyd, the Hull winger would have gone into the first row!
