Certain people at the club knew about the investigation but Lenagan only found out a month later! Jesus wept.

And the same individuals' lack of SC knowledge led them to provide wrong information at the inital interview. I'm not surprised IL was fuming.

Points 5.4 to 5.12 and point 6.14.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

That's quite a damning report. It would appear that IL has allowed a long leash with regards to the senior members of staff during 2018. I did mention a few week's ago if IL had taken his 'eye off the ball' with the day-to-day running of the club due to other activities (Chairman of the Football League.....etc), the timing of the SC issue (and subsequently not being kept in the loop) and the Edwards "contract signing" fiasco alongside IL's recent announcement to resign as Chairman of the EFL could nod towards that.

Basic stuff really.

Sounds like Radlinski and the FD will have taken a bit of a pasting.

I can understand Lenagan’s frustration with the whole thing, but maybe that’s my bias.

The ambassadorial services payment was clearly an unwritten rule and not something that needed to be disclosed at the beginning of the year. The salary cap woman wasn’t aware it was even happening and we’ve been penalised for a lack of “handover”.

What is interesting though is that all of Lenagan’s statements said we’d been highly cooperative and accepted guilt. The paper says, at least initially, this wasn’t the case. Hmm, probably banking on the fact not many will read it.

I think a bigger issue is that we managed to hire a FC that doesn't have "sufficient experience dealing with the Salary Cap Regs".
