Removing salary cap wouldn’t help unless the chairmen of all clubs were willing to pay big bucks for the best players. The cap in Oz is fives times higher than ours so raising it by a million pounds a year won’t stop the drain. We’d still only have the same pool of players to choose from, they’d just be earning more money. However it still wouldn’t be as much as they can earn in the NRL.
It would benefit Warrington massively but nobody else and it would turn in to a one team league. Their owner is wedged and he would buy them a 1-17 of top class players (plus some back up).

The NRL cap is 5.35m next season and ours is 2.1 plus we have the marquee ruling, factor in the cost of living being considerably more I think upping our cap by a million would help a lot.
It would just result in the same pool of players available but they be paid more. The marquee rule is meaningless if ymthe clubs are not prepared to spend the money.

Salary cap should be directly proportional to a clubs accounts in the previous year.
You may see teams actually investing in growth and top quality administrators if that were the case.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
Hastings might be the best realistic half we can sign. There's rumours of Panthers letting James Maloney go, but even at his age he'd surely have other NRL clubs interested, he's starting for NSW in origin game 2, this shows he's still considered a top talent over there. Those on here concerned with signing Maloney at his age shouldn't be, I'd predict he'd be the best player in SL if he did come over (which I can't see unless he has a burning desire to play SL and see some of Europe before he calls it a day).
I've also heard we're looking/looked at Aidan Sezer, he's a good player, but IMO, not as good as Hastings.
