I'd understand it if the argument was Halsall who, whilst not being as good as either, has the potential to be.

Seeing how well Halsall is doing in the Championship I cannot imagine that he is not on some ones radar. Didn't he get three very recently and five a few games ago? Obviously the standard is not the same but I cannot help thinking that he would be improving hand over fist if he was playing in our team at the moment.

Wasn't Halsall a bit wobbly in defence in his last first-team game, which perhaps hasn't helped his cause? I fully expect him to get a further shot soon, though.

Are you in need of cataract surgery, Gildarty has been awful for a few seasons now

Yeah, with us at Hull FC. Loan deal with view to permanent. Rated or not?

Wigan should show that clip to every player who thinks about going and then show them the clips of the challenge cup celebrations.

It’s actually pretty sad that a good player like Gildart has got to a point of celebrating wins for a seconds team, whilst his mates at his own hometown team are having a great time.

I’ll say what I’ve said a few times on him coming back. The money would need to be right and the medical a thorough one. If we can get him on a really good deal for us, then that’s happy days. Good English centres aren’t in plentiful supply and he’s one of superleagues better ones on his day.

I don’t see any issue with him banging the drum and celebrating the victory, you would expect him to be putting 100% in on the field to not only win games but to attract the eyes of the Wests coaches (or any other) so I don’t see why he can’t give it 100% when celebrating. Do you expect teams in the Championship to show no emotion when winning as it’s not the Superleague?

I agree with the last paragraph, let’s take the awful last season he had with us (apparently not fully fit) and his failed NRL stint (was always going to struggle) and factor that into his wages and he could potentially be a good signing for us, he wouldn’t even have to get that close to his peak form to be one of the best non quota centres available.

No issue at all and I’m not belittling anybody celebrating a win for the team they’re playing for and with their mates, regardless of the level but simply pointing out it’s a bit of a comedown to be celebrating a second team win, in a foreign country when you could be celebrating a win (and missing celebrating a challenge cup win) with the first team of your hometown club. It’s simply highlighting that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. It isn’t the celebration that is an issue, of course he should be celebrating but surely a part of him is thinking ‘have I made the right call here’. Saints homegrown players seem to have reservations about giving up what they have already but ours not so much.

I’d be a bit disappointed if that’s true considering how short not only we are at centre but the whole league.
