Decent player without doubt but putting it in perspective Isa probably an underwhelming signing but a good pro, Farrell poor, Tomkins poor, relatively speaking in that company I think his ability is somewhat magnified.

Bateman is highly rated. Only young, versatile, already an international. Chased by a number of NRL clubs. In this day and age players like that are hard to come by. If we're not in a position to use to marquee spot to bring in top talent, at least use it to secure are top stars.

Getting a bit bored with all the Bateman speculation to be honest. He's a very hard worker with some good footwork who runs and tackles his heart out. But let's get some perspective - far bigger and better players have left Wigan in the past and we've moved on. If he stays he stays, if he goes he goes.

Maybe I've misunderstood you, but it seems like you constantly just completely ignore or don't understand the point just to argue. This is an example.

Let's break it down.

Two issues of money.
1) wages, what can or will be paid to a player
2) money paid to sign a player.

With the marquee spot we can literally pay a player whatever.
With a transfer we can literally pay a club whatever to sign said player.

So to say we can't be in to sign Tapau isn't right. I think you might have missed the earlier posters post regarding why it would we couldn't be in for Marty if we can't keep Bateman.

Be doing 3 years over there he can secure here future. Thats where his dilemma came. Could he be away for that long. Im sure we will see the result announced soon enough
