Bevan French seems to suggest he’s going to be here past this season in an interview on Wigan TV post the Toulouse game, saying it’s going to be a really good place to be and that he’s looking forward to the next couple of years.

Feels pedantic to post this but he didn't actually say that (I think this was mentioned on the other site as well). He said its going to be a really good place looking forward over the next couple of years - so not quite the same as saying he's looking forward to the next couple of years.

Not pedantic at all mate. I’ve just listened to it a few times just now and you’re probably right in that’s what he says listening to it again. It’s not hugely clear to be fair but either way it’s some positive noise from him at least and there does seem to be a growing confidence he’ll stay on.

Found myself looking on the other board recently for any info on signings and I have to agree with most on here that Dan is talking through his backside. Said the club were going to make a big announcement which never happened, then said French was going to sign a new deal and it be announced last week to which again didn’t happen. Claims we are signing Wardle then after the Wire loan gets announced says we are signing one of Gildart, Wardle, Leutele or King (talk about hedging your bets) and he also says we have signed someone who he doesn’t think is worthy of a big announcement but won’t say who. He basically makes educated guesses or says something so vague he can claim it to be true further down the line. Seems to have people eating out of his hands too.

I think if they could replace him now with another quality prop or get another of their signings in early he could be on his way to us before next year.

It’s amazing, Cooper plays the majority of his career at Wire and nobody mentions his toxicity until he signs for Wigan!

Hoping no news is good news with regards to French.

Apparently the club are completely in the dark about his intentions which can’t help with future planning.

The club needs to set a deadline. Either Bev signs or we look elsewhere.

Supposing French has re-signed and the club are holding off the announcement until a time that suits them.
I'm pretty convinced he will re-sign if he hasn't already done so.

The lad who told me this had been involved with many clubs and the England set up.

He likes Cooper, he was simply pointing out he is the kind of character that can influence others within a group and if he is unhappy it is felt within the group in a major way.

I think he’s been generally fine over the years however his relationship with Powell is soured to the point a major rift has developed between them and due to Coopers influence has created rifts between team mates also.
