Interesting times with Zak leaving and Bibby and KPP looking like they are too. That's 3 guys who started the season in the squad.

There’s certainly going to be some work to do again. I am hopeful KPP will be here for 2023 though but Hardaker gone, Bibby going and probably French and Leuluai following them leaves us needing a few signings. I wouldn’t be against Isa being moved on also if he could get fixed up. If that all happened we’d need a winger, a centre and a third halfback as a minimum. I’d also like a quality starting prop but the club may feel they need 2 centres (they definitely will if KPP goes).

I think this was discussed on here and got a mixed response but with what we need and looking at who could be available, I’d not be against getting Ratchford if the money was right. I’d still want another starting centre but to have him in the squad covering fullback, centre and the halves for a season or two wouldn’t be bad business IMO, simply because of what we need and us being inexperienced in certain areas.

Yep great call mate, I always say the same.

Was never as bothered when a Bateman or Sarginson left us for the NRL as we poached from smaller clubs.

Hurts more when they are Wigan lads and have been at the club since 13 years old.

Have people watched the video though? What a immense talent, closest thing this country has produced to SBW. Perfect size, Ali Lauatiti offloading skills but can just run straight and hard and run over people, very fast for size, very fit and excellent in defence too.

Can’t wait for him to regain fitness, straight back in the team at RC (Thornely and Bibby can fight it out for LC) for me.

Really hope we can enjoy him next season too.

Taking my Wigan fan cap off and I still think it’s a bad call for KPP to leave Wigan this year, the same with Havard too.

Be interesting to see which club he goes too, he seems like the kind of person with his head screwed on so no doubt he will look to join a club that suits his lifestyle and can also develop him as a player.

I very much get the sense that English lads go to the NRL "to any club that'll have them". Even if it's basket-cases like the Bulldogs or the Newcastle Knights. Or Wests (see Gildart).

Charnley is available next year. IMO he would make a great short term shout if/when Bibby goes and Miski shows no sign of progression.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Charnley back here but I wouldn’t personally go for him. I just think the club may see an opportunity to get him pretty cheap for a year, with maybe a years option and we all know when he’s motivated (and he would be for a spell) he’s a very good player.

It’s slim pickings on the recruitment front as a whole but even more so when it comes to English talent.

I’d give Miski some slack tbh. He isn’t getting many opportunities but I thought he took steps forward at Huddersfield and it was the first time I looked at him here and thought he could nail a starting spot in time. He’s worth his weight from our end in particular.

I said the same a few weeks back. A relatively short contract that works in the favour of Wigan is a no brainer imo. It gives him the chance to come "home" and go for that SL try record too
Surely that's good motivation and, like you said, a motivated Charnley is a good player.
