He played wing/centre at Penrith but didn’t look overly comfortable as a centre.

For me he has been a 1 since 2014 and I just don’t see him moving back to the centre for club or country but then again i’m Not going to argue with Wayne Bennett so looking forward to see how he goes.

He was a fantastic 1 at all clubs bar Wigan. At Wigan he's defensive qualities are still there; but whether it's our system, or that in his time away from the game means he's lost a yard of pace, he's not the attacking threat he once was; not by a country mile. Barely breaks the line or goes on the long distance runs he used to from broken play.

I’m a little surprised to see him get the nod over Connor though who has gone well at centre for club and country much more recently than ZH.

Yeah I agree, if he goes well at centre and I assume that’s where he’ll play all GB tests it will increase the likelihood of him going centre for us.

I’m surprised a bit in relation to Connor but not much. I think ZH offers more than Connor does TBH

Wayne bennett does like a "safe" option though. And ZH will be steady and safe there. No risks.

Personally I think we can afford a player like Connor in the centres taking the odd gamble.

I think Connor is a player who raises his game on the big stage; likes to antagonist the opposition and put himself about. I like him, and I like this side in a player; a little like John Bateman or Sam Burgess; always looks up for the challenge; likes to take it to the big guns.

Plus he shut down Manu pretty much the whole series last year

He did a number on him. To say Manu was getting bigged up to the hilt prior to the series, it was a totally one sided battle most of the time with Connor causing him no end of bother.

As somebody who doesn’t believe club form is the be all and end all, I’m really surprised and disappointed to see Connor left out. He’s born to play in big games.

See I disagree with the “safe” option in ZH; how long hasn’t he played centre for? Connor is and has far more international experience as a centre than ZH does and for me would be the safer option of the two.

I agree with the second bit but I’d prefer ZH before him. And to be honest I can’t really say why, so I’ll put it down purely to “Wigan player” bias, rightly or wrongly.
