Not heard anything, but he’s the exact type of player that Watson would get the absolute best out of. Up there with the best back rows in the comp when he’s on song...you’ll have a hell of a player if it turns out to be true & Watson works his magic.

We are well stocked in the second row with Farrell, Bateman, Isa and Smithies with KPP providing back up. There’s other areas we should look at first IMO.

I think KPP needs another year to mature.

I agree there are clearly some very good players there obviously but I think we lack a bit of impact and size to give us more options if we run with those.

Greenwood lacks dynamism however he showed that coming off the bench with his size created new problems for defenders after having to deal with a Faz or an Isa type player for a spell.

I also appreciate Smithies can play there but for me he is more a specialist 13 capable of doing the work of a middle but lacks the strike threat of an edge.

We have Shorrocks as well. He played a lot of his rugby in the second row in the academy. He was excellent in the middle for the first team this season but could manage either role. You have to factor in that Partington may well continue to play in that loose forward role as well, so that leaves Greenwood behind Isa, Bateman and Farrell as a minimum and Smithies would get picked ahead of him also. I’d only be comfortable losing Greenwood if he was replaced but that wouldn’t be by another back rower IMO, it would be by a winger or a prop. The squad is a little out of balance and if an exit of a 4th/5th choice back rower helped address that, you take the opportunity for me.

We are stacked full of back rowers and if Greenwood's ooc then he has to go.
If he is going to Hudds it will be very interesting to see how he goes under Watson's coaching.

He isnt out of contract but has been told he is free to find another club if he is able to do so is my understanding.

Ouch, As Greenwood is (I believe) a confidence player and needs a cuddle it seems, if we don't move him on this will knock him right back.

Got talking to him a few weeks ago, a really nice lad. Hope he gets sorted, or at worst he puts himself in the shop window with us next year with some strong performances.
