ok....i was one...a doubter.
expected a loss, feared the worst over lack of depth, thought Micky Mac wsnt up to it.

now the backtrack

Macca looked world class tonight...the new signings looked good, and the kids coming in as cover did well and let nobody down.

i was wrong...plenty others were wrong........theres nothing wrong with the team, the squad..............IN WANE WE TRUST

now come on...anyone else want to hold their hand up and backtrack?
BANG THE DRUM.............BARMY ARMY

Given my opinion of Micky Mac has always been he is a good player I won't back track on that one thanks!

I will say I was expecting a loss v Leeds so am a bit perplexed as to what went wrong last week. (And no Hudds were not that good).

Best thing for me today bar the unexpected result was seeing the young players do well. Competition for places

I never had doubts about individuals as such, but I will admit that I fully expected to lose today.

I just wasn't sure that we still had that battling spirit, but I am VERY happy to see that we appear to have it.

The pack this week was superb, which begs questions about what happened last week.

I wonder if the team just expected that a poor Huddersfield team would roll over?

Well done for today Wigan, and let's see if we can keep up that standard over the course of the season.

Goulding and MM were excellent tonight, I gave them stick last week but credit is due off tonights performance.

Kicking game. Won us the match, again something that needed work. Lets hope they all keep it up.

Leeds were gash though to be fair, and I was made up not to see Watkins name on the team sheet.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

I criticised McIlorum's attacking input but he much better in that department tonight. He's had some very good games in the past but I've never really felt that he's played consistently well.
He needs to back up the performance next week, as do the rest of the players, but if he can play like that consistently then he has little to worry about.

My feelings exactly.

I still have my doubts about Macca. But putting in consistent performances of tonight's level would go a long way to allaying my fears. He is after all playing hooker, arguably the most important position on the field. We should only except the very best in such a vital position.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.

Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds

Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.

Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

Me too given the injury situation we have in the backs but that just makes last week all the more annoying given who Hudds were missing.

I love posting on these threads, Wane proved last night he can turn it around and fire up the lads when needed so fair play to him.

I have been a massisve critic of Goulding in the past and thought he was outstanding tonight, big pat on the back for that lad.

Crazy how much of a difference a week makes, looked to have blown off the cobwebs from last week.

Be honest guys it was not huddersfield that were poor last week we beat you fair and square by our 'kids' giving 120% and perhaps your guys underestimated us as you had on paper a stronger team last week with carmont and farrell than you did tonight when you deservedly beat leeds.

No team has a divine right to win every game you just sometime have to credit the opposition and move on !!!!

Judge your coach after a fair period last week most of you were doubting him this week he's the messiah its a long season boys see where we all end up at its end !!
