No disrespect, but that's an overly generous viewpoint.
Whatever he does now, there'll always be one or two for whom it won't be enough. They've dug themselves into so deep a trench of dislike that they won't be able to retreat from it and save face.
That's fair do's then, if they want to they can do but I want him to reach his potential. In the past we have got rid of players thinking they weren't good enough without giving them enough chances.
I want to extinguish any hope of him becoming a decent player before I got rid, the end of the year I give him allowing a few crap games, if he is rubbish at the end of the season drop him like a sack of shi'ite by all means and I wouldn't ever think we didn't make the right decision but let's give him a clean slate for this season and judge him when he plays. And if he plays crap all year and we get rid and he goes to Wakefield and gets 'Man of Steel' then so be it, I wouldn't regret it.
Same for Fielden as much as he has been a f@nny all the time he has been here, clean slate and all, even if he is sick of being crap he can turn dirty instead, I would rather see him do that than fade away into a shadow of his former self. A few high tackles and a few fights he will be right as rain, a proper prop forward.
I've always thought Riddell and Roberts have the ability just not the desire/motivation but this year is another clean slate for them to prove me wrong.
