...cometh the man?

http://www.wigantoday.net/warriors/Pryc ... 6014427.jp

I really hope he can step up this year. This has been done to death but he really does have all the physical attributes to be a monster of a player. I just hope that 'madge' has got him fired up and hungry to succeed. I wasn't one of the groaners last year when his name was announced and I certainly won't be one this year. I just hope everyone gets behind him from the off and gives him a fair crack of the whip.

Just so that there's no confusion, Pryce is the one with the white hat on.

"My first year here was a write off and we pretty much always knew it was going to be," he said. "Last year, that was all down to Brian Noble not picking me. I think I missed two or three weeks because of a fractured cheekbones – the rest of the time I was in the reserves and doing pretty well. Hopefully I can carry that on."

Harsh on Nobby is that. He didn't play because when he did play he was gash.

I'm not so sure. I seem to remember a half decent game against Quins were it was 2 or 3 men drawn in every time. He didn't bust through them but it left them short in other areas. Nobby bringing him on at 6 was a massive mistake though. He's not quick enough or clever enough for that.

Never a truer word spoken. But lets give him a fresh start this season.

Go on Karl prove us wrong.

Which is why I don't understand why he played there for the reserves - what's the point?

He scored a lot of tries in the reserves, but he should do playing against lads half his size. Even though he was prolific he still looked clumsy and ponderous whenever I saw him.

Hopefully I'm wrong and he'll suddenly be a British Jamal Idris, but he simply doesn't seem to have the bottle for it.

That could also have been due to them being a man down. I'm not a Pryce hater but he needs to get his finger out and prove he deserves this extra year on his deal.

Actually his 'gash' record as some people put it stands up better than quite a few players.

Brian Noble didn't help matters when he brought him on to play six! Just what a lad low in confidence needs.

Big year for Karl this. I honestly can't see him getting another contract should he not impress this season. I don't think he will get a game at the start of the season if everyone stays fit, but his time will come. He just has to keep working hard and step up his work rate in games.

Not wanting to go over old ground but he deserves a clean slate just like everyone else, and I think were all pretty much all in agreement with that. I'm really looking forward to seeing what a fit and motivated Karl Pryce can do, and that for me is they key point motivation and enthusiasm, if McGuire and Wane can get that into him we'll be onto a winner.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.
