Don't think Leeds are a major force at present, or even close to one. We gifted them possession and territory that they hadn't earned, which kept them in the game. They also looked pretty weak in defence, and proved very vulnerable when we sorted out our attack. A fully firing Wigan should have blown them away, as they should last week.
But ... it was a 'get back on the horse' game for Wigan, so we had to overcome the psychological disadvantage of having lost two winnable games on the bounce and the growing fear that we might be about to slide into a losing streak (all the more so, given that we 'lost' the first half today). On top of that, the ever present injury crisis continues. We get Marshy back, and then lose Havard ... and none of these seem to be 'one week off' jobs.
Lots of reasons why Wigan could have gone into their shell today and been well beaten again. But they showed the inner strength to put all that aside and do what needed to be done.
Full credit to the lads for that, and special credit to Matty Peet for what must have been a serious half-time pep talk.
