It doesn't surprise me that your mates think the same as you. Its that narrow minded vision that means you'll sleepwalk whilst the game is on its backside. When you have 400-500 people watching an U16s game between Saints and Wigan then I think that tells you that they need each other and the game needs both of them
Its not just Wigan. Warrington being relegated last year would've been disastrous. From a financial perspective they give us our second highest home gate of the season after Wigan.
Saints and Leeds suffered more than any other club during Covid as hospitality was obviously banned. Clubs are also still paying back Govt loans so we need as many big clubs in SL as possible.
No doubt you'll send a reply from your Mums computer in her bedroom later when you've had a couple of beers.'"
See what I mean WW69,you should try it.

| I noticed Redvee and some Saints fans on Twitter are not happy that the North stand capacity is reduced and that remaining tickets are not available for both Wigan and Saints fans. On the first point the reduction in capacity is a health and safety decision made by the stadium company. On the second point surely the club is better off targeting sales at fans who may consider attending the next home game?

Thought the North Stand is reserved so no lower capacity

Looking at the ticket system there's literally only a few thousand left in the East and West stands. In addition Saints tickets in the [i[uNorth are reserved [/u[/iwhich allows a higher capacity in that end. With a week and half of ticket sales to go we really should be looking at a sell out, especially if we go well against Leigh.

I agree. I bet if you ask Leeds Rhinos management and the majority of their supporters (the sensible ones anyway) if they miss those big games against Bradford, what do you think they would say? 20k+ at Headingley, 20k+ at Odsal. If you watch back that 'Renouf to Radlinski' on YouTube, in the background you will see that Bradford brought 4.5k to Wigan in that North Stand. That's a massive loss in revenue compared to what Wakefield, Cas or Huddersfield bring these days. I don't think the game has fully recovered from their relegation, which is sad.

It's higher than it would have been had the stand been unreserved but still lower than what it was a few years ago due to concerns over overcrowding on the concourse.

| To be honest I'm glad its reserved this year. Its normally chaos. I'm taking my two lads aged 12 and 10 for their first Good Friday experience (at Wigan anyway) so I will feel better knowing that we have reserved seats.

Their fall from grace after 2005 started it and crowds began to drop, but yes the early 2000's with full on "Bullmania" was massive for the game. I used to love big Friday night games at Odsal.

I'm taking my eight year old grandson to his first derby game although he's had a season ticket for three years. It's the 1st one he's been able to attend.

Hope they enjoy it but not too much
i remember taking my daughter to her 1st derby at Knowsley Rd. Walking into the away end just as Wigan came out. She literally s*** herself because of the noise
i then spent 80 minutes lifting her up so she could see the game from towards the top of the stand and i was absolutely knackered at the end

Yep, i've seen that quite recently and was thinking exactly the same
its a pity now, that we only get decent away followings v Saints / Wire, and we can maybe add Leigh in this year. The club has to be commended this year, on thinking that they use the North for home fans, bar the ones mentioned. If we can build another 1000-1500 regular fans in the Community stand, that has to be good longer term for the club
Hull / Hull KR both used to bring decent followings over, but as we all know, Friday night across the M62 for an away fixture isnt the friendliest commute, but do we swap to a Saturday / Sunday just so we can get an extra 500 or so away fans, and possibly lose corporate revenues from hospitality etc

| Looks like tickets are available to all again plus ES1 has been taken off sale (maybe given to Saints)?
