Exactly the lines I was thinking. Goes without saying his salary would have to be cut but it’s an opportunity for him to rebuild his career over in SL. He’d be a huge signing and one in pretty sure most Wigan fans would be pleased with.

I think to sign him he’d have to command a marquee wage though which is a real sticking point. It’s a gamble certainly but one which could prove dividends if it comes off.

Anybody know anything about Brendan Elliott? 24 year old centre at Gold Coast looking to test himself in Superleague next year. I suspect he’s struggling for 1st team rugby after stints at Newcastle and Sydney Roosters. I can’t recall seeing him play.
Antonio Winterstein also looking to come over. He’s 30 but still a big strong, fast 3/4.

I watched the Gold Coast game tonight. Elliott is a tough lad with plenty of go-forward; like the look of him. Also the kid (Brimson?) who seems to have overtaken Elgey in the pecking order, and looks a much better player. Ash Taylor is a bit of a star in a poor team, though, just like Ponga at Newcastle.

Yea I like Ash Taylor a lot and I’ve said many times how I’d love us to get a decent scrum half. I just can’t see someone like him coming to Superleague.

Corey Norman could be one to keep an eye on. Form has been a little indifferent of late, possibly due to Parra's form etc. I think with a change of scenery Norman could excel in SL. Good runner of the ball, good passing game. Would easily slot into the halves (where he's been playing for the past few years) Can also cover FB and centre.

Parra are looking to offer him around in a bit of a shake up at the club.

I'm all for discussing a good rumour but this topic appears to have turned into Hopes & Aspirations rather than Rumours & Signings over the last 10 pages or so!

So, who are Wigan rumoured to be targeting /retaining and who is rumoured to be leaving? I saw someone mention Sarge leaving earlier, didn't know anything about that? There's obviously been no say on the Bateman saga as yet either. that's running on longer than Corrie now.
