Thought I'd pop on here to say 1 match is poor from the disciplinary. The intention was there for all to see, there is no viable argument to claim he was trying to do anything else. Deserved a minimum 3 IMO.

I agree with the on report however in this case the VR saw the replay in a stoppage in the game 2 or 3 tackles later. The ref can't then go back and issue a card.

The VR has intervened on incidents when cards have been issued before (not tackles later though I should say) - remember when Child sent off McIlorum while basically getting a running commentary of the incident from the VR? I think it was Stuart Cummings on that occasion. I'm not saying they shouldn't intervene but they should either always give an opinion or completely stay out of it tbh.

You won't hear any complaints from Shaun Wane after his rather graphic description of standing on someone's hand against Manly. Deliberately I might add.

Let's not overreact here. One game sufficient I'd say.

I couldn't really care less. He season is over either way, Wire have nothing to play for, might as well blood some youngsters. However, I do think that this should have been dealt with at the time. The Ref and other officials claimed not to see it, well why not? surely one of the should be looking at the play the ball? hopefully that gets addressed. Secondly when the video ref does tell the ref about it he should tell him that it is a yellow card offence. What is the point in telling him to put it on report, because they would have punished him even if he was not put on report. So either keep your mouth shut as the video ref or tell him to bin him. Don't frustrate people by saying we have seen it but are going to do nothing.

Its because the officials did not see and the video ref whispered down the ear to the ref ,as play had carried on he could not give us a penalty and cos he didn't see it he put it on report.

Why bother telling the Ref he has missed it during the game? It would still have been reviewed by the panel. You run the risk of the Ref making a wrong decision to 'even it up', but two wrong decisions do not make a right one.

Like i said, the Video Ref should have told him to bin him (if he was allowed too) or not said anything to him. Why anger the Fans by saying we have seen something but are going to do nothing about it?

Re: Ashton Sims - stamp : Thu Aug 27, 2015 7:58 pm
These are the problems with the on field officials and VR's.
On a try they hand over the decision to the VR.
If there is foul play and the on field officials haven't seen it then they can't make a decision and make no decision which is the worst of all outcomes. In that situation they should also hand over to the VR and let him make the decision.
If that had happened then Wigan would at least have had a penalty, maybe even a binning for Sims.
