| Croft from Wakefield too. Seems to have played half their games last year so should look good for us given how well Wakefield played.

| Lovell back on PT contract. Great news. Thought he played well last season and will add continuity. Basically it looks like we have a really strong squad. If they can gel quickly we look in good shape for the new season. The only dark clouds are that whether the Championship winners can get promoted/ whether it’s possible to get enough IMG points to get promoted is still very much up in the air. Also the 1895 cup doesn’t appear to be being played at Wembley on CC final day so not sure it’s even taking place this year which is just typical as we have a real chance of winning it.

| Another 3 added to squad today. A PNG prop, Jack Croft and they have signed Alex Walker which I think is a good sign. It’s important to have some continuity. Apparently the PNG players are flying in today just as temperatures dip below zero. None of them were dressed for that type of weather from the photo so they’ll be in for a shock. All the makings of a good season to come. I hope they put out the Silver STs soon and get a decent take up. They certainly deserve it.

Yes there’s still a bit of back office stuff that’s not quite up to full speed yet but if I recall last season the replica shirts didn’t even arrive until after the season started and the issue of sponsors was a complete mystery. If someone told me that the club contacted Brewdog and said, in terms, we’re going to look like mugs with no sponsor so you can stay our front of shirt sponsor for a nominal sum, I’d believe them. Then, of course, there was the fact we didn’t even have a full squad. Any way it’s dressed up things are very much on the up. If I had to guess I assume pre season begins very soon so they want to announce players. The new trading facilities and shirts will be next in the announcements.

| Blimey, I had to blink a few times reading that list because it feels like someone has accidentally switched us from the usual Broncos soap opera to an Avengers assemble moment. Wallis arriving was enough to make me sit up, then Voro, Lovell, Kapinias, Croft, Walker, Davidson, Mathias, Bienek, Bitungane and Luke Smith all piling in like it is some sort of pre Christmas flash sale on quality players. I genuinely cannot remember a more explosive start to a squad build. It is like waking up one morning and finding the club has been replaced by the version we always moaned we never got.
The optimism is real. You can almost feel this group being shaped into something that will run through teams rather than just hanging in there. If these lads hit the ground anywhere near their peak then there is every chance we stop being the plucky underdog and start being the side that dishes out the hidings. Quite a refreshing change from the usual emotional rollercoaster.
And now we have hints of land and training ground owned moves floating about as well which, honestly, feels borderline surreal after the last decade. It is the sort of rumour you normally file under things that would be nice but will never happen. Yet here we are in 2025 with ownership that seems to be ticking off impossible things before breakfast for 2026.
I am absolutely buzzing to see the fixtures drop now. For once it feels like we can circle dates with excitement rather than dread. If this lot gel we could be watching one of the strongest Championship sides EVER. Roll on the season because I am struggling not to refresh the news feed every five minutes.
