Perhaps go on the (other) Workington forum and look at what the fans think about this appointment.
“Best signing at the club in years” “excellent news” “spot on” “breath of fresh air” “delighted with this news”
They are probably in a good position to judge whether the team and club has improved from how they were under prove- and he hasn’t even had a preseason with the squad yet.

So the fans like him.

However the proof is in the pudding.

Lower placed finish in an inferior league says enough for me.

Even if it is Thorman who we all have a soft spot for.

I think everyone should stop banging on about Chris Thorman this and Greg Brown that.

If Thorman was that good, he'd be at a Super League club next season and Greg Brown is not doing anything ground breaking at Salford. Strength, conditioning and fitness of players is largely down to luck as much as anything else.

If people didn't move on and the club try to develop, we'd still have Lionel Cooper on the wing and Alex Murphy as coach

Indeed - and with players and coach like those you mention - we wouldn't go far wrong!

Can't remember seeing Lionel cooper play but anyone who saw Murphy play would never forget him, even allowing for the difference in style of game, he was the best English Halfback i ever saw play the game and i was a big fan of Cas in those days who had the likes of Hardisty.

Regards Thorman , I don't think he got a particularly fair deal on the face of it, But like i was told when i mentioned Brough recently, Thorman is gone Move on.

No announcement from the club re a replacement, we will likely need someone else as we are running an extra team this year.
