Yeah he is so you won’t be signing him.

I hadn’t thought of Butterworth. He’s only 19 and Bradford academy product. 3rd choice hooker too so fits in perfectly with your recruitment criteria.

missed out on tomkins then, just the type of player we want big second rower... if you can forgive off field antics!

Tomkins came back from Union a much lesser player than when he went, as did Sam from NZ, I always wished Sam had not gone over there, he looked a special talent to me with that long ground eating stride, Anyway they have knocked the vinegar out of him over there, He would still get into any SL side but he ain't the player he was.

We could do worse than cast a eye over Drinkwater, he will come second to Tomkins at the Dragons.

I’m not sure taking the player who’s been replaced by someone better by someone just below us in the table is the way we should be going...

I see your point Brearley, we should be looking round for more Gaskel's and Fergusons. Sam Tomkins would replace his counterpart at just about any club, but fair enough it's a matter of opinion, I thought Drinkwater had been a part of the Dragons revival myself, certainly looked good against us, but not seen all that much of him,
Far more likely Giants would get Ellis back from Cas , that's more our style, particularly while he's injured.

tbh Any recognised halfback would have improved Catalan since they didn’t have one!
Didn’t impress me overly last season - not sure how well he’d fair behind our tiny pack.

Take your point also jools, but look how good they were with Walsh ( a recognised half) Not many half's do well behind a struggling pack, you need a Roger Millward to be able to do that . Maybe Russel is the long term answer for us.

Anyone heard if we are looking at a left centre? I'd imagine Gelling and Sau would be available given their current situations, both would be good signings to me. A Sau/Uate combination on the left side would be scary
