I think most people over here want the game to take off over the Atlantic Canoeman, I certainly do , but one team travelling backwards and forwards thousands of miles hardly seems as though it's going to be the saviour of the sport somehow," despite your undoubted enthusiasm ".

It needs a league over there to start with and despite all your hype and boasting about what Canadians can do " which i know is just banter " You have as someone has already said done nothing that any other city could not have done with the same money, What you have in fact done is purchase a foreign team with your Billionaires money, play against the lesser sides in the league and then claim to be the only hope for Rugby League to survive.

IMO if some of that lovely money doesn't find it's way into the coffers of the ESL i doubt you will last two seasons, Had you been dealing with the RFL well anything could happen, but you will be dealing with men of a different ilk, who are not all your Flat cap wearing, whippet breading Pidgeon fanciers.

End of the day we just have to wait and see, but you have to appreciate we have seen saviours come and go before, Don't think we don't wish you well over there, but i think you need to think about expansion of your own.

Fair enough and you just might be right...but I just might be right and this just might be the time. I believe that in three years time from today the picture will be alot clearer...either one way or another. I believe in the future, in the TWP and in our owner...I have not been given any factual evidence to think otherwise...nothing whatsoever.

Well another 64pts for the magnificent Pack against 16 men one of whom had come out of retirement to help, all of whom are part time and a team that was nothing like full strength and after a transatlantic flight.

Mmmm there appears to be a pattern here !!

No shouting about this shambles by the RFL

As per my original post logic defying and the death knell of Rugby League if these cock eyed games are the future, time to admit this experiment ain’t working for the game if this team was anywhere else in the UK expanding the game yes but in Canada get SERIOUS !!

The title of the thread is Toronto Wolfpack Defies Logic....and it is true. We are not going anywhere; we are here to stay and everyone is running scared because we all know what happens to teams that play us! We are winning all of your plates and trophies and league titles (100% success rate so far).

You can come up with false excuses why you should never play us etc. etc. but your time to approach the chopping block will come...your day of reckoning will soon be upon you! No amount of squirming will allow you to avoid your date with destiny....your appointment with the Big Bad Wolf!

It’s in yer head fella...

Warrington 66-10 Toronto, Rugby League Challenge Cup 2018

Unless you talk, read or write in Japanese (the wrong way around) it appears that your 100% of plates and trophies isn’t quite right. :D :D

If Warrington were running scared god help you/TW if they had fancied the job !!

Hey this isn't a dig at your club.

At least 10 Super League clubs think like Neil Hudgell it's simply his turn to leak a bit of info.

In answer to your question jo- in my eyes the governing body should help to fund the game at grassroots level- it’s they who need to figure out how to facilitate that-as far as I’m concerned that’s their job. It will be partly funded by SL clubs in some respects anyway. There are ways that clubs could be involved for minimal cost such as running training sessions/coaching etc- which they could VOLUNTEER TO DO. Just like the regular coaches/first Aiders/touchline managers etc do!
I know some of this goes on-but more could be done. So many young kids move on to Union, not because it’s a better game, but because the coaching and facilities are better.

Responsibility for local grassroots development was given to the clubs a few years ago (about 2014 if memory serves). It’s up to the SL club to get involved and develop its own area with coaching sessions/school visits/coach education/coaching courses etc. If the RFL were to do this then each club would have to have reduced central funding to do this. That’s why at the last TV deal there was a decent figure given directly by Sky to each clubs’ Foundation.
