I can imagine a few permutations here, what's everyone's starting 17?

I'll go with

Pryce
Jerry
Leroy
Ricky
Wardle
Lolohea
Fages
Hill
AOB
Yates
McQueen
Jones
Bruno

Bench
Levi
English
Wilson
Trout

Loyalty to the young lads on the bench. I think Russell finished the season outsta dingly and needs game time, I wouldn't be surprised to see lolohea at full back and one of Russell Pryce or Cogger in the halves.

I feel like we have a full forward pack not selected that can come in and do a job

I've gone for Jake on the wing to give us an aerial threat and I don't hink he's as effective on the right.

I've no doubt the likes OAB, Golding, Seb, Mason, Greenwood, Ashworth, Roberts etc will all be in the frame at some point, we seem to have a squad with a lot of depth and no superstars, which I actually think is a good thing as we should be less reliant on individuals

I pretty much agree with all that except I think wardle should play at centre. Its his position and the one he's in contention for international call up for.
the halves / FB dilemma is an interesting one.
potentially I would play Pryce in the halves and Golding at FB as I've not seen anything from lolohea to suggest he'd be a better option at FB. I understand Pryce is seen as a FB, he is young and still learning but he does need to play. FB is a lonely position, there is no hiding - and even hodgson got stick at times when exposed out there. Let him play in the halves alongside fages for at least a season then switch to fullback once he's got a few more games under his belt at the top level.
the future's bright the future's claret and gold

We have a deep squad with options.

If everyone fit, for game 1, I’d go for…

Golding
Jerry
Wardle
Ricky
Senior
Lolohea
Fages
Hill
Levi
English
McQueen
Jones
Yates

Bench
Seb
Bruno
Greenwood
AOB / Pryce
Run leroy , run !.... And he did - twice - and we partied hard...

Agree with you Jools about Wardle and Pryce.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Watson go with lolohea FB, Cogger and Fages in the halves, but in my opinion we wouldn't have enough creativity with that 6&7.

Hoping the lads get picked on merit and that we can keep the crux of our squad fit for the season.

Depth has to play a part this year with the number of injuries clubs have these days. There's only really saints I can think of that have stayed relatively injury free for the last 3/4 years

I see Wakeys squad numbers have been announced today, while their 17 is decent I think they will struggle if they lose 5/6 of their first team squad

As all teams are running a reserves those with a lack of depth will struggle if they get a few injuries to both first team and back up players.
Most pundits are putting Toulouse hudds and salford in the bottom three. With wakey thrown in around there as well (although one pundit put wakey up at 6th) Let’s hope we can prove them wrong. Let’s face it last season we were put top 4 by some due to a single player who didn’t perform for us- so hopefully with a good SQUAD, we can put a few noses out of joint.
On paper it may look as if Wakey have assembled a squad with lack of real depth- but it looks like Pochings tactics is to rely on utility value as wakey have a large number of players who are Jack of all trades master of none- and they will cover injuries that way. It will make his day to day coaching tougher but could well pay off if they have a few injuries
the future's bright the future's claret and gold
