Not actively Steve. It's in the rather badly worded statement issued by the club, that they may have contributed to LISA contribution declining.

If somebody else is willing to pay the tab , let's say like a Xmas do where it's free ale , rarely will you find the staff insisting they will buy their own , well this year we will have to do exactly that

The simple answer to fans having to pay more than the price of their match ticket to finance the club is more fans , something the club has failed to build upon given our no doubt record of being the pro club with more wins than any other in the world in the last 20 years

LISA support the signing of players by contributing to the playing budget every year ince it's inception , in 2005 it was put to the membership that it could fund junior development instead , that idea was voted down , just because the club has had a benefactor willing to put considerable finance into the club on 2 occasions hasn't meant the money raised hasn't been given

LISA waits until it has a set amount in the acc and then transfers a set % of that to the club ( in recent situations when the clubs ( sporting club Leigh ltd ) actual future has been in question money has been delayed until assurances by the owner/s have received ) , so the balance of the acc never becomes too great

The agenda of a LZiSA meeting is set by the members , they are free to ask any question they like , if you are a member , attend and ask

By focusing on Gregg , maybe the club will be able to look at other players ( although it is very late in the day right now ) although publicising that right now isn't the cleverest idea around , IMO

So LISA provides money to the club even when it’s not required :? Bit of a strange one and feels a little pointless
Be interesting to know what the set amount trigger is and the % released, and why that is, but not really my place

You obviously knew that the SL team and the 2018 squads were rubbish beforehand , maybe you can find the posts you made at the time declaring such

Derek doesn't need defending from anybody , he owes nobody anything , he is well within his rights to have the club run as a business this year if he so wishes , meaning that yes the supporters will have to finance it , that's how businesses work

Look when I signed up to the forum, easy answer for you then eh?

You say that yet anytime anyone says anything about the running of the club from the last 2 years here you come like Comical Ali saying “nothing to see here”. I didn’t mention Derek I said whoever made the decisions.

I said the club was badly ran, it squandered millions of money be that Derek’s or the Leagues or the fans paying on overpriced mercenaries for the most part. £100k a year on Acton who is historically banned for half a season.. As I said bad decisions from whoever made them.

And now we have basically a begging bucket to pay for a player who has already signed. It’s another bad decision, looks terrible.

You say the fans should help more and pay more.. Why? Maybe they are sick to the back teeth of being lied to.

I have simplified things on this subject , the point being that the money is given to support the paying of players essentially at that point in time , not 2/3 years in the future , from the point of the LISA committee , would you want them to be sitting on a bank account with 3/4 years contributions ? , they most certainly do not and I'm fairly confident neither would the members

Again , are you a member of LISA ? , if so go along to the meeting in a couple of weeks and ask , if you aren't a member then a £ 5 donation on the night will give you the right to ask any question you like

You do understand the basic principles of business , and primarily a sports business I assume ? , you set your budget on a predicted forecast of income , our only guaranteed income at this moment is central funding , current ST sales , current sold sponsorship and corporate sales , and essentially a contribution from LISA dependent on the current membership numbers as rarely do members cancel during the season

So wether Gregg has or hasn't actually put pen to paper is irrelevant , the club administration will make their decision based on their forecast of the extra money that LISA can provide

Essentially it is all based on guesswork every year , I thought everybody realised that

You didn't mention Derek , but just who exactly did you mean ? So don't pretend to be stupid

" Badly run ? " , you mean like getting promoted to SL , not finishing bottom , sticking 50 past Wigan , beating Saints , Warrington and Hull and being a dropped pass from retaining our place ?

Yes last year wasn't good , well tough , that's the way it goes sometimes , in this years Premier League there will be a lot more disappointed owners , coaches and fans than happy ones , if you can't stand being let down from time to time , take up knitting instead of pretending to be a RL fan

Re: Gregg McNally : Sun Jan 13, 2019 11:22 am
Financially, the club is run badly, on the pitch prior to 2018 the team has been run extremely successfully. I know a lot of sponsors that dont support now because of Derek’s ignorance towards them and the amateur way the CEO goes about things.

The club needs to keep ALL sponsors and financial supporters on side at all times, basic business. It doesn’t do this and only thinks of the here and now and not the long game.

LISA is a great setup and I hope people do buy into it as it will help underpin financial stability for the future of the club.

Gregg McNally had agreed well before Christmas but Bradford needed to release him publicly and rightly so, Bradford come out of this looking like a great club and all about player welfare.

The statement from Leigh was poorly worded and very amateur although the message behind it was absolutely correct, it could have been genius PR about bringing a player home who most fans wanted and associate with the “good times” of a few years ago, however it came across as “give us £15k and we will sign him for you”

Anyway Gregg is back and the new LISA subscriptions will no doubt go towards another unexpected player or 2.

See you all in the North Stand.

But the club didn’t need the money, just seems a strange arrangement. Can understand with a Halifax type run club - ours has been different.

Rather stick it in the bank than spend for spending sake, it’s like me having so much savings in the bank and having to then buy something for pretty much no reason when it hits a certain level.

Not a member of LISA, and not really bought into this latest “charade” either. Reading comments on the Bradford board that your missus has allegedly stated that the McNally deal is done and dusted, and therefore making the clubs statement a bit of a sham doesn’t help either :thumb:

She hasn't stated its a done deal , however she has suggested it should happen now we have so far raised over half of the amount requested

As you aren't a member why do you even care how the money is allocated ? , I'm sure any members who are interested or concerned will ask at the meeting

So we don’t need £15k :?

I care because it affects the club I support, had it left the money in the bank it could have bought 2 Greg McNallys without the club having to beg
