Derek benefits as his money owed attracts tax benefits, Larroyer and Evans get nowt and as fans we can start showing why we are the best in RL, again. We must all learn from this and ensure we grow as a transparent community club that unites the community behind a common goal again

The best in rugby league? Two players get nowt to coin your phrase and you don't seem to care a jot. No compassion there then to two employees fighting for their contractual rights and families' future. Hope you never find yourself in the same situation.

Terrible that it has got to this, feel the players were ill advised here. When a company cannot settled its debts by agreement this becomes the next option and bad for all. With respect to the supporters we are just spectators to the events we value all players that have played for us but want to see our historic club to survive and provide opportunity for the next generation of players. That is no disrespect to Rhys and Kevin hope they get sorted with new clubs ASAP.

Can't really judge if the players have been ill advised without knowing how much of a settlement they were offered, what their circumstances are etc...

Been in that situation, no point moaning about it - dusted myself down, saw it as an opportunity to do better and did so. Do you advocate having a good moan and woe is I session??

You should never act outside the law, which of course SCL are not. Look at Bradfords history

Because there are no ugly creditors who are forcing this then the club may be able to CVA and stay in business with agreements to pay existing creditors (mainly DB) some pennies in the pound but being able to walk away from future agreed contracts in the same way many high street businesses are restructuring. The more DB pays himself then the more other creditors would get. It is unrealistic of the two players to expect their contracts to be paid up in full when Central funding has dried up. The CVA needs creditor approval of 75% by value meaning it’s all down to DB.

It's not unreasonable at all for the players to expect their contracts to be honoured in full. There was always the possibility that Leigh would not gain promotion and if that meant that contracts couldn't be fulfilled then they should not have been offered in the first place. Clearly someone didn't consider the consequences of their actions and hasn't got pockets as deep as plenty on here reckoned.

No. If you have been in that situation you should be more understanding. No one is advocating a feel sorry session but you have to recognise that the players have a contract and have a right to pursue it. Your previous post seemed to dismiss they situation as "hard luck" and at the same time big up your perceived idea of Leigh fans. I just thought the two ideas were incongruous.
